Family of Turkish-American activist killed in West Bank awaits body for burial in Turkey

“It's important that a young girl, martyred and sensitive to the world, is buried here.”

The family of Turkish-American activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, who was killed by Israel during a protest in the occupied West Bank, was expecting to bury her in Turkey, according to her uncle Ali Tikkim.

Eygi's family are still waiting for Eygi's body to arrive and hoped to bury her in the southwestern town of Didim on Friday.

Aysenur Ezgi Eygi was shot dead last week while demonstrating against Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank town of Beita.

Deep condolences. Differently from many, me included, she translated her sensitivity into action and her body, her physical body payed the consequences because of the shortsighted vision of the assassins who happen to rule in some countries and of those who provide them with mass destruction weapons. She will inspire more and more people to take action. To live cowardly fearing death or physical hurts doesn't pay in the end. May I have the courage and find the means to follow her example soon, in the meantime I'll keep sharing, speaking up and make small and hopefully increasing donations to help the helpers of the Palestinian people.
