What if your immune system could fight cancer? Now it can with a cancer treatment created by Penn Medicine called CAR T cell therapy. CAR T is a form of immunotherapy that reprograms your body's own immune cells to seek and destroy every last cancer cell.
CAR T CELL THERAPY FOR LEUKEMIA
In a landmark decision, the FDA approved Penn's CAR T cell therapy for people up to the age of 25 years old with relapsed or refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
It is the first-ever gene therapy in the world available on the market and begins a new era of cancer treatment.

Our success in CAR T cell therapy does not stop with leukemia. We are also testing a similar therapy to treat non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and have a request for FDA approval underway.
There are a number of CAR T clinical trials available at Penn Medicine for all different forms of cancer. Many of our clinical trials aren't available anywhere else.
