Dear Sewing Friends, in this video I will be finally sewing with the most expensive fabric I have ever bought! I had it for 3 years now and it is time... it is time to get to it, to make something beautiful - pssst.... it is going to be a cute ruffle sleeve blouse for summer! Oh my, it was a journey, but so glad I finally did it :) I hope you enjoy the sewing and the video.

HOW TO become a MEMBER of this channel to get access to Extra Videos, library of Instruction Sheets and other perks– PLEASE READ FIRST TILL THE END. Thank you!
• PLEASE NOTE: these are not patterns for clothes and garments included in the Membership
• Instruction sheets are a step-by-step written instruction on how I drafted this or that project, so that you can follow along. Instruction Sheets are available as a back catalogue, but there are no new Instruction sheets for projects starting with July 2022.
• The templates are ONLY for the small projects, like a basket, or coaster, or towel wrap and etc.
• I have also created sewing reference sheets and practice sheets, as well as sketches that you can use and some small-scale garment parts that you can use to practice "slash and spread" techniques and dart manipulations. Instruction sheets are focused on the drafting process and less on the sewing sequence as that is shown in the video. Sewing steps can be sometimes written out, and sometimes referenced back to the original video.
• Members Extra videos go into fabric selection, extra tips and tricks, best practices and some additional ideas from me
• I try to prioritize Members comments, especially if there is a question
• I try to post EARLY ACCESS videos for Members, meaning those are videos that you can watch earlier than anyone else and without ads :)
• Every week I post Members ONLY sneak peeks
• We also have Members Only FB group for sharing project pictures and inspiration
• I am not a teacher and this is not a course or a program

Thank You for being here and see you soon!

What is the priciest fabric you ever splurged on? (and why, if you'd like to share) :)

I absolutely adore the blouse and the little dress for your daughter. You never cease to amaze me with your talents, kindness and ability to connect with us. You’ve inspired to sew better and go out of my comfort zone, like pattern drafting and using special fabrics.

I have cutting anxiety every time I want to sew, which is why my stash never seems to get smaller. I always say I have two hobbies, buying fabric and sewing. You did another video about using fabric from the stash…that one and this one, both inspired me. So let’s get sewing. Thank you for all your videos, they are so helpful and entertaining.🥰 love the absolutely gorgeous blouse. The most expensive fabric I ever bought was hand batik fabric I bought when I lived in Asia(22 a meter), it is still here, but not for long. Thank you🤪

About 3 weeks ago a doctor told me that I would need to cover an ugly cut I got on my leg (from carrying downstairs the old dishwasher) during my vacation at the sea side. Because I didn't want to think of putting the beach towel over it at all times I decided to sew a cover. Basically it is a big scrunchy for my thigh. It's far from perfect but it does the job just fine. Also last week I made some baby towels for a close friend. Now I'm excited about sewing again and I have finally overcome my anxiety about sewing jersey. This weekend I'll try to make a nightgown out of some quite nice fabric that I bought a long time ago. I'm a huge victim for big fabric scraps. Like 70x150cm. Because it's cheap and I need something to practice first before going for the nice stuff. I think a nightgown will be a great practice piece. Also, I've been looking for a nightgown like the one I have in mind for over a year now and can not find anything like it, so I'm just making it the way I want it to be.

This little blouse is absolutely stunning! I love the detail of the layered flutter sleeves. What a good idea to practice on a 'toddler' dress. I am sure your toddler is thrilled when Mommy wears her flutter sleeves at the same time. Lovely finishing details throughout. Great Job!

Great video!! I think the most expensive fabric I ever bought was £20pm Liberty jersey. I was new to sewing and messed it up!! I did later repurpose the garment for something else. I’m like you I want to pay as little as possible even though when I buy super cheap it’s a false economy. I have some paisley linen that I’m so reluctant to cut into because it’s so beautiful and good quality but it’s doing no good on the shelf.

I bought a sheer/beaded bridal fabric from Joann's fabric. It was upwards of $90.00yard and I got it when it was in the clearance section. I ended up paying 10-$20 for a half a yard. It was bought for a specific project. It was going to be a mermaid top overlay. It looked so cool.

Most I've ever spent was about $20/yd on a whimsical viscose twill from Mood. It was pink and covered in unicorns and wildlife. The final dress fulfilled all of my Miss Frizzle dreams. Definitely was like sewing cotton candy and pining feathers to air...floopy and generally a pain to sew. Next up would be some fabric I bought on sale from Spoonflower. The fabric quality there was not worth the cost, but the prints were awesome.
