Code Review: Buying Inventory (with a Loop)

This code was posted in Discord. It is a variation on the Buying Inventory challenge in Level 10, but with a loop from Level 11 to augment the program. However, it got complicated, and ChatGPT made it even more complicated, so here is my work to try to simplify it back down to something more manageable without using any tools beyond what we've learned by the end of Level 11 (so no records, tuples, classes, methods, etc.).
