07-25-2024 Forest Ranch, CA - Park Fire Burns House Down, Tanker Drops, Active Fire Behavior

The Park fire grew to over 124,000 acres on July 25th, 2024. Extreme fire behavior in Big Chico Creek Canyon prompted evacuation orders for the community of Forest Ranch, where a house burned down due to the wildfire. Tanker drops, including a VLAT, worked to slow down the fire with little success. The fire exploded in the canyon and threatened HWY 32 in and around Forest Ranch. A field mouse was seen trying to escape the fire.

This home was my husband’s childhood home, full of a lifetime of memories. We just sold it in April, and are devastated for the new owners. It is absolutely heartbreaking to see the home burning up. The renters are a precious elderly couple who took impeccable care of the home. Please keep them and the entire Forest Ranch community, and all the surrounding communities in your prayers. 😢

I suggested people build their houses underground.... but people insist on having live tinder as homes
Bunker-style houses are perfect for fire danger areas
A basic roof and outdoor sitting area can be above, if that burns its worth 100 bucks but everything else safe underground
