Rest in peace Tom. Too bad we can't have a whole world full of Tom's and Rays.

The best radio program of all time. The literal voices of my childhood. Hope Tom is resting well.

I’m a car guy. I started working on cars as a kid in the ‘70s, helping my dad change oil or plugs, maybe replace points or a steering pump. And every week, he and I would listen to Car Talk. We loved Tom and Ray, we tried to solve the problems along with them. They were hilarious, they were self-deprecating, they were smart. And they knew cars. My dad is gone now. I miss him, and I miss Car Talk. They were the best.

I just finished a 24 hour round trip to my parents (12 hours up, 12 back). Downloaded 24 episodes of Car Talk and played it all the way. Greatest car trip ever, time flew by so fast.

In my headcanon I always envisioned them as Mario and Luigi.

Still listen to their podcast when it’s released every week.

One of the funniest radio shows ever, and still cracks me up!

RIP Tom!

Hope you’re doing well, Ray! Thanks for the laughs!

Only started listening to the show about 2 years ago in my car every Saturday morning. I was saddened to find out they were re-runs and the show has ended couple years ago. Love this show forever and listening to them always puts a smile on my face. RIP CarTalk.

I love that they stereotype people. They’re just being honest because we ALL stereotype people.

I used to listen to them every Saturday morning when I lived in Massachusetts. I moved to a different state many many years ago and one day I got a call back from the radio show they had accepted my question and I could not believe it. Someone called me back and explained what was going to happen when Thom and Ray called my home phone number. I was so honored to actually have been chosen for them to answer one of my questions.❤❤❤❤❤

This is the first show I remember on NPR. I was in elementary school. Used to argue about having to listen to the news w/ my dad. But when car talk was on, I was always game. I bet those reruns will be on another 30yrs b/c 3 generations grew up listening to Ray and Frank.

The car talk guys for those that don’t know also fittingly enough appeared in Cars and Cars 3 (They used archive recordings for Tom in the latter film while it appears they were able to get the surviving brother Ray to reprise his role) as Rusty (Tom) and Dusty (Ray) Rust-eze they also made a few appearances as themselves in a few shows like Arthur.
