I'm also doing a project, I use a vesc 75100, to know the real speed you need to use an arduino nano, to receive the signal from the wheel, you can use a speed sensor or you can use a hall sensor, this arduino will be connected on a 1602 display, and then it must be programmed to receive some vesc and wheel speed signals, I made a program using GPT chat, and it is working perfectly! On the display, I can see the correct speed and battery percentage, vesc temperature, engine temperature, and engine load in amps!

Try the chain tensioner on the bottom of the chain, so it's pushing the chain down on the sprocket instead of up.

Get a Lekkie narrow wide ! Use chain breaker take out a few links ride home as single gear ! I have done it myself BBSHD 1400 watt midrive !

Hope you get it fixed. I have a chain stay which stops the chain from coming off on bumpy roads on my BBS02, I recommend it.

Amazingly I fixed almost all your complaints. Tighten handle bar stem, put on swept back handle bars, replaced seat and installed Suntour post, replace screws on kickstand. Used locktite, gear under warranty?, if not install a diff. gear, ask Gary’s ebike adventures about which one to get, no bike odometer accurate, phone gps not accurate, get real gps, your seat post is blocking the bottom screw on water bottle cage, all middrives get hot, owners manual warns about this. Replace your hobbies with a motorcycle type tire. $72 on Amazon, have 1500 mi with no flats or noticeable wear, this stopped front wheel wobble on fast turns. These are common issues with lots of ebikes from what I seen of reviews. Seen the 100lb + bikes out there now. You own one of the lighter 2 battery bikes.

Thats main reason why i use hub motors. When deraileur went into my wheel, massacred spokes, hanger, rim, and deraileur itself i was still able to slowly scoot to work just using motor. There are 2 separate drives.

Bicycle parts nowdays are lightweight but also weak. I snapped my chain 2x just by legs, gears wear out very quickly. Thay are not designed to survive additional motor power.

Have you try resetting your throttle? I believe you suppose to full throttle, release half way, then release all the way then hit next. Try that out? I saw it on one of those other's doing that using the flipsky controller.

I was wondering if you could thermal pot the Flipsky. And wouldn't that also waterproof it?

Check the price of good quality thermal compound resin, thats why a controller that is potted is more expensive.

Do you mind sharing the maximum amps you have set in the vesc tool? Its quite confusing with the phase amps and i have heard in reality this can not do more than 40 real amps is that true?

I'm trying to use a vesc 6080 from trampa on my bbshd but i can't get the hall sensor diagram from the bbshd, what are the 123 on the bbshd?, also I'm getting crunching noise when i give it full throttle.
