HOWDY, PARTNERS!
I'm off to Ye Olde Dragon Con, so I needed something a little simpler to do in the midst of Olympic-level Con Crunching. I've been seeing little fairy door outlet covers all over ze internet and I wanted to try making one! So naturally, I made three.
Please enjoy this quest of whimsi-fication and the urge to resist eating plastic.
LOVE YOU ALL! See you in Crunchy Spicy Leaf Season!

As a fellow chronic apologizer, I just wanted to tell you that this project was delightfully small. I'd totally enjoy shorter, smaller projects from you. Not that I don't love your big projects, but everything doesnt have to be big. I loved that you got lost in painting for 20 minutes and just had a good time. I'm here for it, and I love short, small projects for you.

For a moment I thought, this could be good for baby-proofing your house. Then I thought about what I would do as a baby if I saw a fairy house: anything, ANYTHING I needed to do to get inside.

Tip for painting "stained glass". Paint the colour on the other side of the glass from the black lines for a clean and authentic look.

If anyone else wants to do this, try getting some outdoor outlet covers from Home Depot and decorating on top of them. You can get dual hinged ones for a dutch door and clear cover ones for stained glass. May be more accessible for some!

The (respectful) appreciation of doors is so real. Doors, windows, fireplaces and staircases are the main attractions everywhere I go. I actually, totally unconsciously whistled at an intricately carved banister once and I've never lived it down.

VIDEO IDEA: There's a guy on YT who did a series in which he painted tiny things in inconspicuous places all over his parents home until they noticed — such as a bumblebee on a wall, a peephole on a door, a puzzle piece inside of a drawer, a tiny person rapelling off a doorframe...
His paintings were tiny and whimsical and basically the cutest things ever.

Rachel could do something similar and paint tiny things all over her house until her husband notices. It seems like the kind of chaotic good prank she'd enjoy and she obv enjoys adding a bit of ✨ whimsy ✨ to her home.

My dad, who used to study design, also loves a nice looking door. Whenever we are on, like, vacation and we're in a town or an old city, we usually have to stop at least a few times so my dad can take a picture of a door he likes. It's very endearing.

"Vagical Mermen" will now forever live rent free in my it will even end up on a stitched pillow or whimsical t-shirt, who knows....but it will live on indefinitely.

@0:37 your skirt, as lovely as it is, also perfectly matches the couch and if I take my glasses off my nearsighted face, gives the strongest vibe and I am here for it 🖤

Doors and windows are portals. Even in a world that does not have outright magic, that carries power. Doors in particular are pirtals of change, change of rooms, change to indoors or outdoors, change of style, change of location. Change is powerful, even without "true magic". So... be facinated, they are worth the facination.

I first started decorating my outlet covers as a form of creative rest after a traumatizing visit to the orthodontist. I spent 3 days using the multitudes of wallpaper samples I had collected over the years to cover all of my outlets. Now each one is like its own little art piece in every room. And one of them blends in with a gallery wall that I have. I love this video!!

I can't imagine having a free outlet with nothing plugged into it, every last outlet is full in my house.

Love the idea, though, and might make some fairy doors just because, to mount in other places than my outlets.

One suggestion: add a little front step under each door, to complete the look.

All of these were really cute, I love them!
