I toured the Texas as a young boy and did later in life with my oldest son and his son. We will do it again in 2025, and I'm confident my son will take his grandson.

It looks like the very first pieces of new deck are just getting started at the bow along the port side gunnel at 3:28. Texas is going to look amazing in those colors with a real wooden deck.

Having grown up in Texas, I'm honored that the USS Battleship TEXAS BB-35 represents our state. I'm a Navy veteran and proud to have served.

Thanks for the video. In the summer of 2003 I was on a vacation trip for 6 weeks driving FL to OR & all over the country to see all the sights I could get in. My plans were to visit the Texas late in the afternoon on my way back home, but I got there 30 min. after they had closed. I did take a lot of video & pictures from the pier. Thank you to the state of Texas for the recent restoration of the battleship. Shalom

She's simultaneously the last dreadnought and super dreadnought.

It’s time to build a few more New York class ships like the BB 35 Texas. As a coastal defense “pocket” battleship. Does Texas have a naval ship yard? Battleship Texas; she’s a sleek, sexy, gunslinger look and feel.

The Battleship Texas started out with coal but was later converted to burn oil and did so Most of her career she also fought fairly Valiantly in World War I and you Failed to list almost All of her battles in World War II !!! 😠

I would LOVE to find out the names of the TWO semi-submersibles that are 'stacked' nest to the dry dock where the Texas was repaired.
This shipyard is right next to where our offshore facility was once located, and where I woud go to turn in my paperwork, time, and expesnses when I came in from working my two-weeks offshore.

Correction it wasn’t the most powerful battleship in the world the Royal Navy had those. However the Texas looks amazing after all the hard work on it. Let’s hope it finds a permanent birth soon, wouldn’t it look amazing next to the Queen Mary 😁👍🏻

A formidable warship when built - no doubt. But nowhere near the "pinnacle" of warship development. Witness the Iowa class battleships and the Japanese super-battleship Yamato.

All rendered obsolete by the airplane.

"The Texas is the Pinnacle of battleship design." Not correct. The US Iowa class or the Japanese Yamato class might hold the title of "the Pinnacle of battleship design."

The Texas was not the last Dreadnought Battleship, The HMS Dreadnought was launched in 1906. the USS Texas was launched in 1914 and every Battleship since the Dreadnought has been a "Dreadnought" Battleship (defined as all big guns, not a mix of many different sizes)

At the time she was launched, the Texas may have been the "Pinnacle of Battleship design", but there were a lot of battleships built after her that improved on her design (bigger, faster, better armor, bigger guns, etc). The Pinnacle may have been the Iowa class (US) or Yamato (Japan)

The Texas was a fantastic warship for her day, and the last surviving pre WW1 battleship, but don't do exaggerate her and memory hole everything that was built later.

This ship should be scrapped. It is a danger to the public as its poor condition could result in a catastrophic sinking.
