MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this restored back to stock 1949 Dodge B-1-B 108 short bed pickup. Retaining its original steel body, this no expense spared B series truck was recently restored completely back to stock. It has had only a few miles put on it since the completion of the build and it is in remarkable condition. The B-1-B was the only Dodge truck during this time to be referred as a pickup. The undercarraige of this Dodge is extremely clean and clearly speaks to the quality job restoring it from the owner who loving cared for the past 21 years

The 1949 B Series trucks featured a high-visibility “pilot-house” cab. The engine was shifted forward and the front axle moved back on the frame for better weight distribution, as well as a shorter wheelbase. The cab was mounted on rubber mounts for an improved ride. Another innovation for the time was the use of a cross-steering arrangement, giving the trucks a tight turning radius. The cargo box space was increased over previous models.

Finished in a brilliant Red, this all steel body pickup shows extremely well. The restorer has tastefully incorporated a contrasting black finish to the bed, running boards and rear fenders. Newer trim is present, complete and displays a bright finish. The front grill has a brilliant finish and looks great. The front and rear black bumpers fit well and finish is great. The headlights and tail lights are very good condition with no hazing or cracking. It is equipped with a recently restored bed with Oak and stainless steel separating strips which have an excellent fit and finish and adds to the over-all theme of the truck.

Inside, the interior features a black vinyl bench seat which looks great. The door panels and dashboard are a continuation of the interior of the truck and look fantastic. The door panels incorporate the same color as the bench seat with the bonus of red trim. The headliner matches the same black vinyl. The black mat is in very good condition and the weather-stripping is excellent, with no signs of drying, tearing or shrinkage. However the drivers side window is inoperable. All the original equipment gauges are well placed, have correct appearance as originally design, however, the temperature gauge is inoperable.

This '49 Dodge pickup is equipped with a original 218ci Flat head 6 cylinder engine that is also very tidy and clean. Power is transferred to the wheels by a three-speed manual transmission. It also features 16-inch original black steel wheels with Dodge chrome center hubs with 6.5x16 Power King tires.

The builder of this Dodge kept his design clean and simple, from the eye catching brilliant red exterior to the refinished oak in the bed, everything works together to make this one of the most handsome B series pickups we've ever seen... and set yourself apart from the sea of Chevys or Fords!... GET OUT AND DRIVE!

Current mileage on the odometer shows 571 miles, sold as is and is mileage exempt. title.

All Trucks came with black beds from the factory. No trucks came with oak side rails. Has correct large tread tires in the rear and street in the front. 1948-49 trucks are identical, only differentiated by paperwork. Pilot-house trucks that have floor trans-brakes are 48-49's, 50-53 have under dash handle pull trans-brakes. Incorrect side mirror, otherwise.... A MOST EXCELENT TRUCK!.
