Best Looking Car In Class? 😍 SEAT Arona First Drive

Pretty isn’t it? Say hello to the new SEAT Arona, the new compact crossover that’s based on the Ibiza. Following the success of SEAT’s first ever SUV, the Ateca, is the Arona able to follow suit?

The model is tested is the sporty FR model, which is priced from £19,985 (base model is from £16,555) and is available with either a 113bhp 1.0 litre petrol or a 148bhp 1.5 litre petrol, both of which are turbocharged.

The latter is on test here, which is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with power fed to the front wheels as there is option of all-wheel drive. This means you'll hit 62mph in 8.3 seconds and the continue to a top speed of 127mph.

There are six trim levels including the FR; SE, SE Technology, FR, FR Sport, XCELLENCE and XCELLENCE LUX. Across the range there a choice of three petrols (94bhp 1.0 TSI, 113bhp 1.0 TSI and a 148bhp 1.5 litre EVO) and two diesels (94bhp 1.6 TDI and a 113bhp 1.6 TDI).

Dependant on the engine, it will be mated to a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG. No matter what gearbox and engine you choose, the power will be fed through to the front wheels.

Lovely review. Seat have really nailed it lasy couple of years. I agree the 1.0 113ps is the sweet spot if you cant justify the 1.5 cost

Good review I've got one ordered (stock) 115 tsi fr but uk stock is running low. From new for people interested 4 year pcp £256 pm 0 deposit and free matts from Arnold Clarke for 115 tsi Fr in White. Price per month far surpassed my usual VW Polo for past 3 don't write it off.

Is there more road and engine noise in Arona than in the new Ibiza? I am asking this because a Finnish review mentioned both tyre (18" wheels) and engine noise whereas I haven't seen anyone blaming Ibiza to be noisy (and to my ears, it wasn't).
