A quick tip I use with color correcting to help cover even further is that after you apply the color corrector do a really thin layer of translucent powder. It sets the correct so that when you apply the foundation on top it's a new layer instead of mixing in with the colors. A lot of drag artists do this and it makes a world of difference.

Nice tutorial! In case you (or anyone else reading this) didn't know, scars need extra protection from the sun, so always use sunscreen on (at least) your scar when you're going to be outside.

Please make sure first that the skin is healed - no scabs or open wounds. :-)

I never thought to do this! Great tip!

Also you can gently massage coconut oil onto the (healed) scar to help lessen the appearance over time.

Thank you so much for this! I have so many big scars (especially on my leg after a nerve transplant) and sometimes I just feel really conscious of them, especially if I'm dressing up fancy and wear something short. This helps a LOT! <3

I've had multiple spinal fusion surgeries during my childhood where the doctors had to reopen the same scar area so my scar is thick and wide now that it's grown as I've grown. Since it's on my back, I don't bother trying to cover it. But I will say that if you want to help your scar heal with the least amount of scaring, moisturize moisturize and moisturize some more! I find things like vitamin E oil, marula oil, and jojoba oil do wonders. I'm sure you probably know all this already but I thought I'd share just in case. Glad you're feeling better, Z!

thank you I am 13 and just had 7 surgeries in my leg and ankle which led a big scar and you can see where the staples and stitches where and it is difficult to wear skirts and shorts with the ugly and nasty scar showing thank you so much!

You're the first tutorial that uses colour correction, as you're supposed to! this technique is also aplicable to stretchmarks. I'd also suggest a pore-filling primer for areas that have uneven texture, as it "fills" the gaps in and the surface looks smoother :)
