The album BUCK U Class of '60 was recorded at Touchwood Studio in Regina, Saskatchewan and released by All Around Country Records in 2006.

When people ask if I have a University degree, I just smile and say I got
my master’s in music at Buck U...The University of Buck Owens…, with a
major in West Coast Country Music. The first time I heard a Buck Owens
record, I was hooked. Buck and Don Rich, who Buck referred to as his
right arm, could have been brothers. Theirs was the best sibling
harmony I ever heard and their recordings continue to impress almost
fifty years after they were first released.

Buck Owens died on March 25, 2006. News services reported the death,
but there was no great fanfare for this man who, after being snubbed
by the Nashville establishment, had created the exciting sound which
came to be known as West Coast Country. It was a mix of honky-tonk
twang and way too much drums;…far too raw for those controlling
the Nashville recording scene at the time. It was also exciting to
those who got to hear it, and over a period of over forty years, Buck
Owens built an entertainment empire on twang and edge.

This album celebrates THE LEGACY OF BUCK OWENS AND the Buckaroos,
Doyle Holly, Tom Brumley, and Willie Cantu, as well as my personal
hero, the late Don Rich. And we’ve made it a point not to forget other
West Coast artists who contributed to that great musical genre...
people like Merle Haggard and Wynn Stewart, for instance. And yes,
we’ve even included some songs that weren’t West Coast originals,
but could have been.
