Izzet is not about chaos, but the search of knowledge.. so much so they disregard any kind of rule, they dont care, the only goal is gain more knowledge.. when one subject catch the attention of a izzet mage, nothing can stop him in research and experiment that subject unless some other subject catch his attention..

I want to play an Izzet wizard so bad! Have an idea for a Hermit kinda personality but he just locked himself into his lab lol. The only reason he comes out is because he invented something powerful, and he doesnt like the way other people are using it, and in turn, gave up using other magical items, because of the way his are being used.

My DM allowed a Tempest cleric goblin (working at the Lightning Rod, naturally). The divine nature took a little recontextualizing and retooling (he's boastful of his Parun and science! writ large, as well as some spell reflavor), but I'm excited to see how it fares.

I see why Magnus the Red is associated with their colors.
He's all about finding out how things work and why. Also The Thousand Sons basically do the same thing, they experiment and see how they can benefit from it even if their original intention failed.
