Scizor FELL OFF in Competitive Pokemon Singles. What HAPPENED?

With the recent ban of Chien Pao, Scizor reign of supremacy in the OU tier has drastically fell off. There has been little no reason actually to use this Pokemon in the Generaton 9 Competitive Pokemon Singles meta game and the reasons have been more clear as the days pass on. Let me know in the comments what you guys think of Scizor recent FALL in dominance competitive Pokémon.

Q: How are the sprites looking like generation 5?

Q: Why is the gameplay have the opponent being dumb?
A: Well surprise its me playing as the opponent as well and having Pokemon faint every 5 seconds isn't as fun as seeing the Pokemon do something in the battle for some time, which is why the gameplay seems like the opponent is braindead. Although I have taken some feedback and have tried to make it more interesting as possible without making the Pokemon faint every 5 seconds for hopefully better entertainment.

Great Tusk knocking off the scizor's life orb when he was on 1 hp was the biggest mercy in all of competitive pokemon

Honestly history repeated itself because this happened last gen as well. When Kyurem left OU to Ubers, Scizor wasn't needed again. I think that Scizor, although a notable Pokemon is only used because people want to check certain Pokemon.

Honestly it has a lot of Pokemon in OU that can handle it.

Though I find it weird when I meet a Scizor that keeps out speeding me but mostly I take out most of the time.

He lost also many of his good moves like Roost, Dual Wingbeat, Knock Off.

I hope he will get some nice new/old Moves in the DLC.

i know this is pretty off-topic but i feel like steel should be super effective against dragon types because in fairy tales knights in shining armor use steel swords to slay dragons which is kinda the reason dragon thpes are weak to fairies in the first place

Scizor lives or dies on bullet punch. OU is filled with steel resists right now Tusk gold, and most defensive pivots resistant to it. As a result, unless there is a major threat for Scizor to check or counter with BP, he's outshined.

I can see Scizor coming back after the DLC if it gets Dual Wingbeat again, since it'd be a great coverage for tusk and the various grass types.

Choice Banded Scizor is still an excellent anti-lead (OHKO's Grimsnarl, Orthworm and Glimmora if it doesn't have a Focus Sash) and has good bulk to pivot

wonder how things will be afther pokemon home is out, there will defenitly be some changes in the meta, some mons will fall from the top while others that was bad will be good because of the larger amount of mons to pick from.

Scizor is still great if applied correctly. I find myself getting it in and sweeping after a swords dance to this day pretty frequently

Lot of fire types or fire coverage in the metagame right now, plus a shit ton of special attackers who actually have some physical bulk. Not a metagame which actually is good for him right now.

As a NatDex Main, Scizor’s Mega still makes periodic appearances in the meta as a tank revenge killer and pivot, with the swords dance set mostly dropping off due to the influx of unaware fatties like Dirge and Dozo.
Still viable as more than a niche, though, especially since other megas like Mlop and MDiancie still present as valid targets.

KGB, however, competes with it for a teamslot.

Man if only they gave scizor something against his biggest weakness... mainly fire, he's one of my favorite competitive pokemon.

Tera Steel Scizor can still be a monster priority mon. It just has a lot of competition from other priority mons. In general, picking the right priority mons is a team comp question because you need complimentary attack types on your team. Slow U-Turn is also pretty good if you aren't taking a burn or fire coverage move. You can choose your matchup if you go second.
