In Poland in 80s and 90s people would confront you on the street about your shirt and if you weren't able to list the songs from the back of your shirt you were beaten and shirt taken away from you.
People used to have a lot more pride in themselves and what they represent.

Not saying it was good or bad, just different.

There were also wars of subcultures. Skinheads chasing Metals, hip hop crowd chasing techno heads. Wild times. Heard a lot of crazy stories from the elders
