I don't know what you mean by it vanishing. But if you mean, why does it a different color when the lights come on. That is because different materials react differently to different light. During that light out parts, it is infrared light. It is most likely that the suit uses a different kind of dye then the mask and gloves, so it looks white in infrared, and black in regular light.

The shadow, in this case, comes from the infrared Illuminator light that is used to film in dark conditions.
