Let's not forget they were both on Columbia records, so an 'executive decision' was made somewhere and Amerie lost the support of the label after that. Amerie was definitely on her way to the top until she got bamboozled.

Amerie brought Go-Go music to the worldwide stage and Beyonce definitely copied her. JLo did as well. Beyonce copied a lot from Amerie, from sound to style.

I loved Amerie so much they called her my celeb look alike back in highschool😂. I agree that Beyonce took things from her but, Beyonce wasn't in charge of her video for crazy in love. I think they even did a "making the video" episode. I think she was supposed to be a street walker.. but Amerie's one thing actually came out AFTER crazy in love did. But the industry is twisted so who knows if they actually met/borrowed or stole anything from each other. Amazingly I remember reading an article early 2000s, and they were saying who will be the next Beyonce and it was doing runner ups with celebs so they had Amerie as a close second or tie with Nicole Shwerzinger* from the PCD. They said Ciara and some other ppl were close but not ready yet. So ppl were even comparing them back then 20yrs ago
