Lyrics:
I’ve been walking a fine line between what’s right, what’s wrong and what’s expected
Now I’m starting to think that this is a senseless fear of being rejected
Can we not see
That we could be
A society full of love and a home where everyone feels accepted
The journey home
Yes it feels sometimes like our two walks of life have been dissected
Just think of a world where our paths merge and our lives are connected
So walk with me
And we will see
That we never never never never have to feel neglected
On the journey home
Take me home
Hamba (walk)
Ng'yekhaya (I'm going home)
We are almost there, we’ve come so far
Now all it takes is a leap of faith to become awake
It’s who we really are
Sing for you sing for me sing everybody
Embrace and take a vow
Love your neighbour on this journey
The time for peace is now
On the journey home

Story Behind Journey Home:
"Journey Home" is the 1st in a 2 part series of songs that were inspired by the 2017 Las Vegas shooting. Steve wrote these songs while he was living and working in Nashville, TN.
"There was a feeling of national mourning surrounding me which sent my mind down a long rabbit hole. I spent days thinking about the human psyche and how the fleeting actions of one individual can negatively affect the lives of so many. I started reading news articles and watching videos about this event and found that I too became emotionally affected. Not only by this one isolated event but by people. What is it that causes us to hate and want to hurt each other? What is it about society that causes humans to lie, steal, cheat and murder? Is this an inevitable set of traits that we must just accept as a part of human nature? Please don’t let it be. I believe we’re better than that. “Journey Home” is a plea to the human race to follow one path of peace, positivity and love. This world can seem lonely at times but I want to remind everyone that we are a community whose strength is our love for one another." - Steve
