Hi Lads n lasses I have been getting some real stick for this video been told I am a lunatic a clown ect and I cant coach well I would like those detractors to read this sent to me only the other day I could put more than a dozen like it on.
But this one will do for now.
Hi Dave,

Just thought I’d send you an email to let you know how your coaching videos have helped me. I’m 19 years old, live in Kirkcaldy, Fife - Scotland, and have been playing darts for 9 years, but never ever played in a pub, bar, club, never played competitively except when I play my Dad in the bedroom on a Saturday night. I practice literally every day and I have started to use some of the techniques your video’s show. I used to have a throw similar to Simon Whitlock, where I would spin the dart in my hand when pulling it back, mainly think I done this because I use his darts! I changed my throw about 3 months ago and changed it to a similar way you have shown us you throw, with the same principles applied from your video’s.

Reason I am emailing you is because I came home from work today (Thursday) went out to my local pool bar and had a throw like I usually do. I ended up playing a guy who was also practicing next to me, and I beat him 5-2. All I could think about was the techniques that you have spoken about etc. Turns out this guy is an ex county champion and has now invited me to one of the local league fixtures tomorrow night to compete!

After playing darts for 9 years and never playing competitively, I changed my throw and adopted the principles you showed and this is now the result... thank you! This has now given me the belief that I can compete to a good level and made me believe I’m more then just an average player, so we’ll see how tomorrow goes!

Keep the videos coming so I can keep learning,

Thanks a million Dave

Makes perfect sense to me. Of course you have to be confident and good at doubles. Personal preference I suppose and what you’re used to. It always amuses me, or should I say bemuses, how people get so uptight about a different way of thinking. Play to win! Trebles for show, doubles for dough. Double dough 😜😂 Thanks for your coaching and thought provoking ideas Dave. Keep up the good work 😉

I agree, if you can hit it then hit it, should not matter other than that :) Nice video Dave :)

Peter wright just now bull double top Auckland masters exactly the way I said he hit it in the two but I bet my bottom dollar he would have stayed there if he hit 25 first dart. I rest my case lol

Ill give it a try!! Just started watching your vids lol love the raised oche 1 will try in the man cave! Keep the vids coming! Any recommendations for a rear weighted dart? Looking to buy a new set; currently using harrows with a centre balance but have found i prefer to grip from the back as its more natural to me. Thanks in advance! Cheers🍻🍻

What for you games do you play for doubles and finishing?because you hit it easy

Great video Dave, but don't you think that going from bottom to top or top to bottom from a double to a double makes it a wee bit harder? I can see going across the board is okay because of the strength of your throw should be the same, but up and down or down and up you really have to change you strength of throw.

76 gotta be treble 20 double 8 hit 20 single 16 double tops only 1 double needed if you miss the treble

Hey dave, bit of a change of subject but I've ordered myself gold points. but i've realised no other pro uses different colour points. do you know if there is a reason? could it distract your eye sight on a target? they all seem to use black/silver points.

74...go for double 17 then tops? Lol....come off it mate that's mental talk. Yes double double finishes are becoming more popular and can make sense but only with the SECOND and THIRD dart. For example if I want 92 ideally I'll go 60, 32 however if I hit single 20 then I'll go 36, 36 BUT it depends what your opponent wants too. Telling people on here (possibly beginners) to go double double with darts one and two is just stupid.
As for tops, 20, tops for We throw at 60's all the time so 100 is 60, tops. If single 20 is hit THEN its tops, tops. I've watched and supported your channel from the beginning Dave but I seriously think you could lose people with this double 17 tops for 74 rubbish.
