Subtropical Storm Nicole is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm Tuesday as it continues its approach toward Florida's east coast. Ahead of anticipated impacts from the storm, a tropical storm watch has been issued for much of Florida's west coast, including the Tampa Bay area.

By midweek, people across much of Florida should be ready for impacts from the storm, including the threat of coastal erosion, strong winds and heavy rain.

It could even be a hurricane upon approach to Florida's eastern coast. In fact, the National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane watch from the Volusia/Brevard County Line to Hallandale Beach and Lake Okeechobee.

As of the 4 a.m. Tuesday advisory, it is a 45-mph storm located about 400 miles east-northeast of the northwestern Bahamas moving northwest at 8 mph.

No it is not Ian. What 2 hurricanes are alike Skippy??? It's still a hurricane & it will cause a lot of damage. After Hurricane Ian, you (and Desanctimonious) should have learned to stop minimizing catastrophes!🤡👎
