How to learn new things, love new things, and grieve for the things we’d lost. And by doing that—by getting creative—we were all able to find the answers we needed. Hey YouTube, here are some suggestions:
--Notifications / Subscriptions--
-Notifications should be on for a channel that subscribes by default. That's what subscribe means, it means we want notifications.
-Bring back email notifications. Mobile notifications do not work for users who want to follow more than 3 channels.
-YouTube should never unsubscribe you from a channel or change notification bell status without user consent.
-Upload notifications should ALWAYS go out to subscribers who have enabled them (unless it's the fourth upload of the 24 hour period).

--Channel Page--
-Animated channel banners randomly stopped working years ago and never got fixed.

--Watch Page--
Autoplay keeps coming back on no matter how much you disable it. There should be a way to permanently turn off autoplay.
-Also make it so YouTube doesn't autoplay to the next video while the user is still trying to type a comment.

--Trending / Explore--
-The Trending / Explore page makes no sense. It's the same channels over and over regardless if they are actually doing well. Change the name to Sponsored Page or make it a list of the most popular videos.

--Monetization--
-There should be ads that will play in front of all types of content. If movie studios can find advertisers for horror content, why can't YouTube?
-Separate advertisers for "edgy" content could include red band trailers, Hot Topic esque stores, video games, etc.
-Aside from that, why can't you just put an asterisk and say the videos don't reflect the views of the advertiser and allow all partners to have ads?
-It's oftentimes unclear what is causing a video to be demonetized. Highlight the offending portion of the video using the same interface that allows us to see where a copyright claims is being made.
- Be transparent about what factors are actually used to make monetization determinations? Audio analysis? Video object analysis? Metadata? The sooner creators understand this, the sooner YouTube can be more profitable.
-Fix the bug causing channels to be bumped out of the Partner Program!! These creators are unable to contact partner support to resolve it, thus ruining their lives!!!

--Copyright--
-Many companies are abusing the copyright system by falsely claiming videos and taking the appeal process as far as possible to try to intimidate creators into forfeiting their revenue.
-Companies will reclaim videos after releasing a claim in order to steal more money and create a chore for the creator.

--YouTube Studio Mobile App-
-Just make the app have the same capabilities as the website. No need to pick and choose.
-Replying to comments is a pain in mobile because we cannot see what video the comment we're replying to is on or any context of the conversation.

--Studio Beta--
-Allow us to embed a specific video in a playlist in End Cards or Cards like we could on the Old YT Studio.
-Custom thumbnails don't always show up in studio beta mobile app. It will just show a frame from the video, even if it already has a custom thumbnail.
-Add cards.
-Add DARK MODE.

--Comments--
-The like number doesn't update when disliking comment a or a community post.
-The system is really bad, it's constantly flagging real comments and letting through fake ones.

--Mid-Rolls--
- Allow creators to opt out of this "auto-generated ad placement experiment." I've spent thousands of hours strategically placing my mid-rolls. My videos are made with built in breaks and I don't want my mid-roll ads placed randomly.

--Uploads--
Allow uploaders to replace the file of an uploaded video to correct small mistakes.

--Accessibility--
-Let us upload language tracks for other languages rather than a whole new video. Make it work like closed captions where you can just select a language.
-This will also allow us to upload audio descriptions for blind users.
-Allow native solution for translating captions, titles and description into other languages with Google Translate. Not just for "learning content". For all content.
-Allow users who upload custom captions to disable automatic captions on a channel level.
