While cleaning tanks and things, you say that boat has been standing for 10 years, your fuel tanks might clean to be drained and cleaned. Maybe I'm jumping ahead in your story. 🤣

A brand new sub here. I’m super impressed with the quality of work that is being done. A little back ground from you two would add immensely to the story you are trying to tell. Remember that the nastier the job, the more it costs to have someone else do it. You guys are printing money by doing all the nasty stuff yourselves!! 😂😂

the benefits that you getting by doing this work by yourselves is going to be paying dividends down the waterways ten fold. you will know your boat so much better then most, you guys have saved a lot of boat bucks in doing it also. You have my upmost respect.

Having been on boats for 50 years I deeply respect what you are attempting to do. As for the bilges, since there is always a bit of water sloshing around, I let it work for me. I keep pine-sol and bleach, some use Murphey's oil soap, some use dishwashing detergent, possibly the strongest grease cutter available, These will keep your bilges clean and non smelly. I just found your videos. Keep up with the good work. Am still upgrading my boat.

Add a "little" clorox and water mix, to toilet and any other water hoses that you can, including your fresh water holding tank, YES, your fresh water holding tank. A "small" amout of clorox in your fresh water tank, will not even be noticed, and will disinfect and keep your fresh water fresh. Look up on a chart, to see how much to add to your tank. Thanks

I have rebuilt a few older yachts and with the boats from the 70’s with the vac toilets. I would recommend replacing the whole system with a newer system. I have had more problems from those same toliet systems from the 70’s. The diesels you have are good motors. The turbos will always wear them out faster. But they are great motors. Overhauling them will cost 15k easy for just a half overhaul so take extra care on motors to get all the life out of them or it will cost 25k easy down the road. I recommend you upgrade the plumbing lines to pex and get that out of the way also. Also new water heater so you don’t get a blowout from rust. But you guys are doing great. I have been there many times with the boats. For all the people watching these videos just remember if you don’t have 10-15k to out into these old boats like this don’t try this. Just the haul out will cost 500-700 depending on marina and the one I uses charges 250 a day to be out of water. And if it had hard bottom oaint that is built up it will need to be sanded and look for blisters. I like a soft paint and paint bottom over 2 years. It’s fun to work on the boats when you have plenty of money and time. But always remember 45k will get you a 43 boat that is in working order most if the time from mid 1985-1990. The older boats are just never going to be completely updated. So you have to love the older look. I have spent 2k just on new plastic vinyl windows for helm. But the biggest part is you won’t be able to get insurance until the boat is completed so watch out some marinas require insurance and if you are in East cost from NC down always remember the hurricanes lol. Good luck guys. I am enjoying watching the videos

You two are doing an Awesome job. Well done. Doesn’t forget. Tidy up and make sure there are no rub or vibration areas that can damage lines and cables wires etc. better done now than later. Safety. Great work. Surprised me how good the work is and the thought you are putting in. Stellar.

if you start making shorts yt will pay you as well and it's a great way to get eyes. 100-10k yt has a program that pays you to make shorts.

Get your self an 1/4" impact driver and those bellows would have been off in seconds compared to having to ratchet each one off... I've never looked back lol... any bolt, screw or nut comes off much faster... You guys won't regret it... Another great video 😊

I’d recommend plumber’s grease for those “O” rings and elbow grease for everything else.

As a multiple boat owner and having dealt with "O" rings in many situations I recommend using thick KY jelly or silk lubricants. They dry harmlessly within a day and will not harm silicone or rubberized seals. Sage words from an old salt. Works like a charm. Also keep some bleach handy for dealing with the smells from Grey and Black water projects. Reduces the bacteria to virtually zero and is an organic that breaks down to its basic elements within 10 hours leaving nothing put smell free drains and sumps. Cheers
