Well, my man; skill and art are not necessarily synonymous. You can make artistic decisions that take little effort and still producs art as long as it elicits emotion from the viewer. Quality is a misused word that denotes the state of something *regardless* of positive or negative connotations. You can acknowledge a piece of work for any of its "qualities, " whether it's because of the effort and or skill required to make it, the insight it poses, the questions zit asks, the simplicity in its nature. "Good and bad" is irrelevant if it makes you think about or appreciate it. I don't believe contemporary art is fading due to any new idea individually, rather an evolving landscape where ideas that bring forth stronger reactions are more important in an environment so thoroughly saturated with skilled contemporary works.
