In 1998, everybody and their grandma played Age of Empires, but Clem was hooked on its strategy game competitor, Seven Kingdoms. Now, 25 years later, Seven Kingdoms still has a cult following and is available as open-source software on the web.

Clem always felt that the game was less of a simulation and more of an arcade-style real-time strategy game, so he's decided to build an arcade cabinet for playing Seven Kingdoms, including a trackball mouse and Neopixel light effects!

I do love that Clem can time travel 4:14 you can see the seven kingdom cab in the background! Still fantastic and love a bit of movie magic.

Technically, BUS ERROR is caused by “improperly aligned memory access.” This means it’s trying to access 16-bit or 32-bit data at an address that is not a multiple of 2 or 4 respectively. X86 allows arbitrary alignment, ARM does not.
