Disclaimer - it's been only 2 months since installed. The hard drive arrived in a cheesy box that reminded me of something you would see advertised as a toy that you could exchange for tickets won in an arcade. It was also very, very light, which made me cringe and think how I could have spent my money more wisely in a sidewalk craps game. Something told me to still plug it in just to watch the smoke emanate from my Xbox 360. It didn't smoke...and the dang thing worked like a charm. Go figure. I guess products don't have to come in fancy packaging and heavy doesn't always mean better. The world is a funny place.. Works in my Xbox 360 s. Replaced a 60gb drive. Does not play original Xbox games, but i still have the genuine 360 60gb drive in a caddy to swap for that purpose.This drive is noticeably faster to install and load games, red dead redemption being a big improvement in both.. This hard drive was instantly recognized by my Xbox 360. First I tried it as the only drive and my console initialized it in a few seconds. I then copied my old drive contents to it and that also went smoothly. I've been using the drive for several weeks and all is well. I used the Microsoft transfer device, which recognized both the new 500GB drive and my old 250GB drive. Ease of use was remarkable. Then there is the fact that the new drive was dirt cheap. I'm old enough to remember paying over 10 times as much for a double-sided floppy disk drive that held 360,000 bytes, a tiny fraction of my new drive.
