A review of Istanbul Grand Airport Turkey, the new airport of Istanbul in replacement of Ataturk International Airport closing.

We spent 7 hours inside the terminal building and here's the review video.

I am myself not very respectful to the old buildings but the architect of the Atatürk Airport is quite known and the company he founded is still one of the biggest architectural firms in Turkey and of course Atatürk, the founder of Turkey, is such a big figure in Turkey that anywhere his name is given is quite important for Turkish people.

There was a big debate in Turkey whether building the new airport to that location is a good idea or not because there is a big weather problem (winds) at its location that will affect the flights and also its location is on birds' migration route, the birds might get sucked into airplane engine during take-off and landing.
For using the new airport, Atatürk Airport's two tracks had to be closed so the flights won't affect each other and it's a waste.
Of course, another thing which was debated about was how long walking paths are and how much time each airplane does taxi before arriving gates.

These for sure only concern Turkish people but I still wanted to share this information. I used the new airport once and tried to enjoy the view, what else can we do after it's built :)

I was there in April 2019 and too bad it was only operated for 1 week so most of food courts are still closed lol
We could only buy drinks and snacks from small stall
It was definitely my longest walking distance to the gates
