Take a Picture - Lyrics by Richard Patrick
Awake on my airplane Awake on my airplane
My skin is bareMy skin is theirs
Awake on my airplane Awake on my airplane My skin is bare
My skin is theirsI feel like newborn
And I feel like a newbornAwake on my airplane
Awake on my airplaneI feel so real

Could you take my picture
Cause I won't remember
Could you take my picture
Cause I won't remember
Could you take my picture
Cause I won't remember
Could you take my picture
Cause I won't remember
Yeah

I don't believe inI don't believe in
Your sanctity your privacy
I don't believe in I don't believe in
Sanctity a hypocrisy
Could everyone agree that no one should be left alone
Could everyone agree that they should not be left alone, yeah
And I feel like a newborn And I feel like a newborn
Kicking and screaming

Could you take my picture
Cause I won't remember
Could you take my picture
Cause I won't remember
Could you take my picture
Cause I won't remember
Could you take my picture
Cause I won't remember
Yeah

Hey Dad what do you think about your son now?
Hey Dad what do you think about your son now?

One of the most beautiful songs I´ve ever heard (1.000.000 times, more or less...)

All I did in the 90s was fantasize about the future. Now that I'm in the future, all I want is to go back to the 90s

, I feel bad for anyone who never actually experienced the 90s. It was the last decade we were free and actually just enjoyed ourselves.

This song hit radios a month before my best friend committed suicide. We were 18; he died 10/7/1999. I was always afraid I'd forget his face, his voice, his smell. I haven't.

RIP Jymm... ❤ You'll never be 'left alone' and we have the pictures to remember. You live on in the hearts of many.

My dad told me the story of what this song meant to him, my dad had never met his biological father until 2006, I was born in 1999 right after this song came out. When my parents drove home with me for the first time, this song was playing on the radio and my dad had never heard it yet. While this song was playing he was thinking about how his father would be feeling about being a grandpa and then the lyrics “Hey dad, what do you think about your son now?” played. He said he got goosebumps and started to cry, a mixture of joy and sadness of not knowing how his dad would feel about him, would he be proud? Happy? Supportive of his own boy having his first child? He said he’ll never forget that moment until he’s dead and gone. That story always struck home to me and made me think that maybe some things, even music, are meant for certain moments in time, like that moment right there. Thank you Filter for making a beautiful and soul warming song for us all to forever remember.

I was a senior in high school when this came out and it blew me away. Listening to it late into the night. When you're a teenager you can only wonder about the world and what it will be like. You see endless possibilities. My imagination would run wild. I loved this song. Hearing it again makes me miss those times dearly. Your teenage years are a trip. Things are different now. Growing up has its pros and it has its cons. Cherish your youth. Be kind to people.

I discovered this song in 2006… life threatening cancer, a divorce, 2 scared kids and Richard Patrick in my head phones. I’m still here & I still love this song

I love this song, it reminds me of mtv, videos, & my sister & I going to see bands at clubs in 1990's. On Nov 24, 2021 my sister died from diabetic/ covid-19 complications. We're 4 yrs apart, she was only 46 yrs old. I'll never have anyone else that loved music as much as her. Late 80's & 1990's music will live in heart always. My sister liked Filter, so did I. Rip Angela, I'll see you again one day. 🙏💔 I love all the comments here to. ❣️

Given technology nowadays, I never thought how serendipitous it is that a band called Filter made a song called Take A Picture

I’m 27 years old and I remember my big brother and I jamming to this song in the car when I was 11. He passed away to suicide that year in December 28th of 2006 and he was only 18, 3 days before his 19th birthday.
This is to you big bro. 💜

I woke up from being in a medically induced coma a couple weeks ago and this song was in my head non stop. I hadn’t heard it in years but as soon as I had the strength I came to YouTube to find it and now here I am💙

This song changed my life, my son was born just after the release and I stepped up and made the hardest decision in my life to be the father I didn't have.

Playing this song as a tribute to my older sister who passed away last month. Filter was her favorite band. Even though she isn't alive physically, she'll always be alive in my memories 🖤
