Four people arrived at the the Kennedy Space Center Monday to prepare for a historic, but fairly risky mission dubbed Polaris Dawn. The crew is set to leave next Monday and will spend five days in space where they'll test new SpaceX suits, attempt the first-ever private spacewalk and try to travel to higher altitudes than the Apollo Program. CBS News space consultant Bill Harwood has more.

FFS, ... Why does mainstream media always seem to go for the Stupid, Ignorant, Uniformed and JUST PLAIN WRONG Headline.
This mission was not 'dubbed' "Polaris Dawn" by SpaceX, it was NAMED that by the Customer. It is not 'Risky' out of the ordinary for space activities, and labeling it as such is Disrespectful to the time, effort, training and skills of those who have worked years on the upcoming Polaris missions.
CBS News, you should be ashamed of yourself for using these INCORRECT headlines to grab attention. Anyone wanting to actually learn more about these missions, go to the following channels - Everyday Astronaut, NASA Spaceflight, What About It, Marcus House, Ellie In Space, Scott Manley.

Risks are necessary for any new innovation and testing. This is why private industry moves much quicker than governments.

Doing anything in space is risky. No need to hate on spacex because Elon owns it.

The way you say sending private citizens almost sounds like they being forced to go, I guess it’s more like people begging to be able to go

If we are to work in space, EVA is a necessity.

Yet we launched men on the Apollo program through this radioactive belt on a tin can. Nothing to see here

I would honestly do it but I cant imagine them telling me I have to stay until next year like they’ve done before. I mean who knows I could be wrong.

Elon Musk should go and stay in space for ever.

This shows how ignorant this channel is. Space x is taking these people who are demanding to go into space because they want to. I've met people who would go to Mars knowing they would die on that mission.

Are they going to pick up the stranded guys on the way back?
