As someone who migrated from India as a uni student, let me tell you how much I contributed to this country’s economy. £20, 000 per year for a 4 year degree plus uni accommodation which was £4800 per term (8 terms in total), living costs which were about £500-800 per month and a contribution towards NHS ever year. A total of about £155, 000 over 4 years from my own pocket, no student loans etc all money came from Indian economy into the British economy. After graduating I got a job through which I was contributing to tax as any other UK citizen. I have now been serving in the Royal Navy for the last 4 years earning an honest income and contributing to the society. Never claimed a penny of state benefits even though I am entitled to it. Your problem isn’t legal immigrants who bring money into this country, it is the illegal immigrants who don’t contribute to the society and claim all the benefits on top of that!

There are far too many Universities and they are all competing against each other for the money and because of this they are far too open to immigrants paying for a place and getting a dubious degree. Even for our indigenous population there are too many people wasting their time at University only to leave with a degree they don’t use and or is of no use in the real world.

We international students from so-called developing countries are ready to pay 2-3 more times uni fees than british students which helps to compensate for the lower fee britisj student pay and yet we are being targeted.

There are far too many Universities in this country. There are 6 in my county as well as 2 large colleges that provide some University level courses. Some of the colleges i believe provide courses for foreign students. We need more Vocational Colleges teaching skills like plumbing, electrical engineering, building, social care because those things are being completely usurped by mickey mouse courses.

I couldn't go to college or university but i work any job i can. My last job fired local British people and other immigrants to hire only Asians most who were on student visas. Also they fired other European immigrants too and the immigrant manager shouted and was a complete dictator, no clue how to manage and promoting only his own race or religion!

The real problem is the dependent visa holders, whole family coming along with the students, and availing free education and health care, not the post study permit. That was the worst decision ever made by UK government. Both our children studied there in Bristol uni and Imperial college in the period without PSW. They found good jobs after their graduation.

Easy route to come here, agents earning huge money, fake students coming with family, not even studying, they come to settle here. Stop this route immediately

Some come and falsely declaring that they are earning certain amount and pay the tax for few year (adviced by immigration lawyers). Once they get their residency, they bring their family members and from then onward they claim unemployment and get benefits for them and their family members
Some they go further and within few months they claim they have seperated from their partner and get another accomodation and they rent it privately, cash in hand
These cases can easily be identified but all governments rather not touch it so they won't be accused of being racist

Yes, the old student visa ruse. Apply for a student place at a university. Get accepted and sometimes a student loan, attend said course for a short while then leave. Stay in the country and no doubt never be sent back. As for Theresa May...Jason Welby in a dress. James Clevverly?Can't be bothered and it shows. A spineless jelly fish. There is no one with any clout who wants to do something about immigration. Makes me incandescent with rage.

I presume that means our educational standards are dropping. Some of these so -called students are given easier entry exams, even Oxford and Camebridge have dropped their standards. 😮😢.

This has been known for years. Many students come to UK, don't complete their courses and just "vanish". Populist politicians ignore this - and many other immigration issues.
