So basically mc lied to the guy that his mom is mentally ill and stuff and that she got worse cz mc's dad died but one day mc's mom called and the guy answers the call, (it was mc's birthday) so the guy decided to make mc visit his mom when they got there it turns out that mc's mom is alright and his dad is alive, mc's parents are actually lovely. That means mc has been lying to the guy this whole time the reason he lied is so he can be friends with the guy and then steal his fortune since this guy is richy rich

In 2006, Oliver Quick attends Oxford University on a scholarship. He befriends Felix Catton and is invited to meet his wealthy family at their estate, Saltburn. While the family takes a liking to Oliver, his intentions are revealed to be more sinister. He gets obsessively close with Felix and also has a brief fling with his sister Venetia.

Oliver had previously described his home life as poor, with his father having recently died and his mother being a drug addict, but after Felix tries to surprise Oliver for his birthday to visit his mother, Felix sees that Oliver's parents are both healthy and alive, and that he comes from a middle class background. Felix, disgusted by Oliver's lies, orders him to leave Saltburn after his birthday. The next day, Felix is found dead, and Venetia later commits suicide as a result of his death. Their father James pays Oliver to leave Saltburn for good, despite their mother Elspeth wanting him to stay.

Years later, James dies, and Oliver runs into Elspeth again. After she invites him back to Saltburn, it is revealed he orchestrated everything that happened with him and the family, from him meeting Felix, to him poisoning Felix and giving Venetia the idea to slit her wrists. Elspeth is on her deathbed, but she had already signed over her assets to Oliver, so he takes her off life support and inherits all of Saltburn, where he now lives alone.

I AM HERE
btw yall this is an explanation of the movie, not the direct plot- i couldnt find the whole plot anywhere. However, it is the overall plot of the movie and explains it all.

The true meaning of Saltburn lies within its exploration of desire in some of its rawest forms and how destructive it can be, especially as it starts to entangle itself with pure obsession.

The movie starts with Barry Keoghan's Oliver introducing audiences to his fascination with Felix Catton via voiceover. Viewers see that from the moment Oliver first sees Felix at Oxford, there’s a connection—at least, a one-sided one.

It doesn't take long for those desires in Oliver to manifest and start growing into a more untamable obsession. But things balloon quickly from there as Oliver does, and says whatever he can to get into Felix’s good graces.

This includes manufacturing a whole false tragic backstory and abandoning a new peer with little destination.

Oliver is so successful in his ploy that he gets invited to the Cattons' Saltburn Estate.

Now, desire is messy and unpredictable. This is no less true for Oliver, whose intrusive impulses lead him to do other reckless things during his summer stay at Saltburn, such as eating out Felix’s sister, Venetia.

His obsession also causes him to act out defensively, like when he tries to exert dominance over Farleigh. Oliver would go as far as to frame him in order to get Farleigh banished from the Saltburn estate, all to get rid of any threats to his relationship with Felix.

Some of the biggest gross-out moments, such as Oliver’s bathtub snack and his vampiric tendencies, are products of intense desire and obsession. The desire becomes difficult to control—the want is just so strong that it becomes the sole focus at any given moment.

Everyone has versions of these thoughts, those things that people wouldn't ever want anyone to see, whether they exist outside of one’s imagination or not. These are embodied by Oliver’s twisted and depraved actions throughout the story.

But the moment Oliver was fully denied by his obsession, Felix, following the unraveling of all his lies and falsehoods, he soured. If he couldn't have Felix, no one could—he’d simply become that person.

This is what led to him lashing out at the rest of the Catton family and basically becoming, or devouring, what Felix was by killing them all. This came at the cost of Felix, Venetia, Sir James, and Elspeth’s lives—and ended with Oliver being the sole owner of the Saltburn Estate and its wealth.

He devoured the entire Catton family name, just as Venetia warned.

Now, things get a little messy when the film’s later twist becomes unraveled.

Oliver Quick admits to Elspeth on her deathbed that he was the person responsible for all the tragic incidents that occurred to the members of the Catton family. What’s more, is how he planned his closeness to Felix and introduction to the Saltburn Estate from the very start.

This makes it seem like he was after wealth the whole time—which doesn't line up with how the character has acted up to this point, as explained in detail above.

This makes everything fairly messy—and is the key point of contention among many who have seen the film.

Now, obviously, obsession and desire aren't the only key focuses of Saltburn’s story.

For example, there is plenty of commentary on social class standings and those of wealthier standings. However, both generally serve more as set dressing for the larger focus on Oliver and his destructive desires and obsession that causes him to rampage through the entire Catton family.

So I watched this movie and the story goes as followed
A nerdy student named oliver quick goes to a colleague where he sees a guy named Felix Cotton hes the Son of Elspeth Cotton which is the owner of a mansion in named Saltburn
One day oliver goes for a walk with his bike to get something from the library and meets felix on his way there. Felix tells him that his bike tire deflatet and he needs a bike or else he will miss his next lesson
Oliver than tells him he can take his bike since he only needs to go to the library and can walk there so its not a big deal for him . Felix than thanks him with a smile and rides off.

A bit later they meet again in a bar as oliver was there with his nerdy friend
He goes to the bar to get some beers but there seems to be a discussion with him and the bartender being that he doesnt have enough money to pay
Felix notices that and walks over and gives oliver the money as he pretends its his and that it fell out of his pocket.
He then invites oliver to the table and tells the people that he has just invited them all for a drink to which everyone cheers for.

After that point he starts to hang out with felix alot more to the point where he invites him to his estate called saltburn

Oliver than starts to spend all summer with felix and seems to develop more for him than just friendship feelings
At night oliver notices a girl infront of his window wearing lingerie and he starts to take interest in her her name is venetia

The next day he tells felix about what he saw at night and felix tells him that thats his sister venetia and that he should stay away from her

That night oliver decides to take his shot with venetia and goes downstairs where she waits for him he goes to her and as they dirty talk to each other rather cringeworthy oliver starts to finger venetia to which she tells him to stop since its that time of the month
Olivers response to that is his bloody fingers and telling her hes a vampire he than proceeds to eat her out

The next morning the family has breakfast together and felix seems to be mad at oliver which oliver is confused by

When he confronts felix he tells him that according to farleigh another guy that they have let reside in saltburn has seen oliver and venetia full on dry humping each other
Appaled by this accusation oliver fabricates a quick lie and tells felix that he would have never but she came onto him and wouldnt let it go and even kissed him to which felix responds with „yeah sounds like her“

Later that night felix invites oliver to come with him to his favourite place
To which they go to a bridge nearby and he tells oliver that they have some sort of family tradition where when you die you get laid down in the river underneathe the bridge so ur soul can float to the other side of the bridge he asks oliver what he plans to do now that he has his degree and oliver says he doesnt know and felix asks him if he doesnt want to go home and see his family to which oliver responds with he likes to keep his distance to his family since his dad is dead and his mom is a drug addict and he hasnt spoken to her in a long time
Felix than said thats messed up asks if he has no silblings to which oliver replies with no felix than says that he feels very sorry for him he than asks him when his birthday is and he said tommorow and felix than says he will make a party for him

During the night oliver hears some noises from the bathroom so he goes and peaks in through the peephole where he sees felix jerking off in the bathtub. As felix leaves oliver is seen slurping his bathwater right from the drain (yes that scene is as gross as it sounds)
The next day felix invited oliver to come with him on a trip as shown in this clip first oliver is excited but slowly starts to get worried as he sees where they are heading to which is his hometown they arrive at their parents house and as the door opens felix encounters a healthy not so seemingly drug addict mother of oliver
And his father is also very alive
They get invited inside and his mom asks if they want tea or lunch to which oliver says no and that they really should go to over and over again after a while felix gets pissed off and says that oliver should stop being such a pussy sit down and have said lunch with them we then see a shot of them driving off

As they arrive Oliver tries to talk to felix but he then says that hes a liar he cant trust him and he doesnt want to be friends with him.
He can stay at the estate and he wont tell anyone else since its so messed up he wouldnt want anyone to know
He than leaves

Oliver than leaves and the next day they plan his birthdayparty
At the party
Everyone celebrates and makes out but oliver just walks around and tries to fit in he than goes and looks for felix which tells him to leave politely 3 times as he doesnt felix tells hin to fuck off

So oliver walks alway and gets drunk later that night he goes inside the familys garden maze slightly drunk as he sees felix fucking a woman
He watches them from the shadows until he has seen enough and says to felix hey i just want to talk to u
To which felix jumps scared and the woman leaves
He asks wtf is wrong with him
And oliver said that he cant take it anymore he loved felix so much and him pushing him away is just too much for him

Felix asks him to leave
But oliver cries out again to whoch felix asks him to leave again more angry

Oliver leaves and lets his bottle there

The next day oliver wakes up and walks outside with a robe on as he suddenly hears a scream from the maze
He runs there quickly and sees esbeath on the floor crying with felix laying unconscious on the floor at first he doesnt show much of a reaction but then he starts to cry with them and asks what happend

They tell him that they found him on the floor and that hes not responding
A medic is than called and we see the family with farley sitting on the table in a red room as their red curtains are closed to avoid looking outside as the nurses take his dead body away.

The family tries to have a normal conversation as farley suddenly asks why oliver still is here.

Noone answers as suddenly the mother says hes their guest and that farley is also here for a long time now so why does he care so much
To which farley says if noone has noticed all that weird stuff happening since oliver arrived there

They disregard him as being ridiculous and that this is a grieving time and to stop talking about it
That night oliver sneaks into farleys room and he gives him a handjob while telling him to leave the estate or he will tell the family that he has gambling dept and that he was in a pyramid scheme or whatever as he has emails that proves his guilt
So the next day farley abruptly leaves

Leaving only oliver the father the sister and the mother
They have a funeral the next day and oliver starts to cry uncontrollably to the point where he even falls on his knees
He then starts to take off his clothes and smuthers himself in the dirt of the grave before humping the grave while sobbing

The next day there is another dead body found in the bathtub this time its the daughter that cut her wrist and bled out in the tub
At this point the mother and father are desperate
The father insists on oliver leaving to which he says that esbeath, the mother still needs him and that he thinks she wouldnt survive if anyone else left

The father tries to bribe him with money to which oliver takes it and leaves
A couple of years later
We see oliver
In a coffeeshop typing in a laptop as elsbeath enters the shop and sees him filled with joy she invites him to live with her at saltburn as she is very lonely there and didnt see it right what her husband did to him just kicking him out like that
He reluctantly agrees to come with her and then we see a shot of oliver having his monolouge again
Explaining how easy everything was
The shot expands and we see elsbeath on a bed with a tube in her mouth giving her air
He then explains that he planned everything from the moment he first met felix
He planted a nail in felix his tire and walked with his bike in his direction so felix would approach him
He put a razorblade next to the sisters baththub as he knew she would most likely kill herself, he threatened farley so he wouldnt even thinking of coming back and he put poisen into the champagne bottle he had with him when he approached felix which he died from
It is not exactly explained what happened to the mother exactly and why she was in the condition she was in but in the end he would pull out her tube and suffocate her

The last bit of the movie
We see oliver dancing around the house naked as he accomplished what he had planned from the start
Taking over saltburn

There’s a movie that I think you should review! It’s called Stay Alive and it’s a 2006 video game horror movie! I was actually named after one of the characters lol. But it’s a fairly good movie! I totally recommend you watch it.
