While on tour through Costa Rica, we posted up at Hotel Bougainvillea to enjoy their 10-acre botanical garden, which is a green oasis in midst of the Cantón of Santo Domingo in the hectic city of San Jose. The diverse array of plants, birds, and insects provided a peaceful moment after some of our group botanical trips.

Everywhere you go in Costa Rica you find spectacular flora and fauna! The climate is just wonderful and supports boutiful life. It rains, yes, but the benefits are breathtaking. Thanks Summer and Sander! [I hope I spelled that right] Pura Vida!

Great tour and video. Thanks for the names of the plants. It helped me to identify a couple of plants in my collection that I could not ID on my own.

@28:42 - thanks for mentioning this in your video. At least a couple of the plants featured -- notably _Ardisia crenata_ and _Ardisia elliptica_ -- are emerging as serious environmental weeds outside of their native ranges in Hawaii, Florida and the wet tropics of Australia. Costa Rica's native flora is beautiful enough, and as a globally significant biodiversity hotspot it should be respected for the treasure it is. :)

this makes me wish i could live in the tropics. i love my housplants, but sometimes i feel like a bully keeping them indoors in the northern hemisphere. these plants look so strong and, for a lack of a better word, happy, outside in conditions close to their native habitats. thanks for the awesome tour.
