Chinese companies at center of evading sanctions on N. Korea: study

A new report accuses Chinese companies of ignoring trade restrictions on North Korea,... despite Beijing's claims that it's more committed than ever to implementing international sanctions on its long-time ally.
The South Korea-U.S. joint study, which analyzed the supply chains that make Pyongyang's weapons development possible,... says imposing secondary sanctions on Chinese firms that trade with the North... would make existing sanctions more effective.
South Korea's Asan Institute for Policy Studies and the Washington-based Center for Advanced Defense Studies specifically finger Hongxiang Group, a mid-sized manufacturing firm near the China-North Korea border,... as one of the worst offenders.
The report suggests the Chinese government apply its commercial law against such companies to stop them trading with the North.
