at least the Renault 5 looks like a Renault 5 even without the badges. Take the badges off the new Capri and it becomes a polestar

Takes me back, my sister Fran (who passed away in 2018 of cancer, I was incredibly close to her) her first car when she passed her test was a yellow Renault 5 TL. She absolutely loved it (as did I) we went everywhere in that car! We nicknamed him (yes him) the Yellow Peril, but actually he never put a wheel wrong! Great little car. Seeing the new R5 in yellow, really puts a smile on my face, and I'd have loved to see what Fran would think. She was heartbroken when she had to scrap the Yellow Peril, and despite becoming a General Practitioner, and owning a Jaguar XF, she ALWAYS had a soft spot for her Renault 5, as it represented getting freedom as her first car. I was thrilled when Renault chose yellow as the concept colour, it was almost like Yellow Peril had been resurrected, and to me, it's a great colour for the R5. When I showed my other sister, Mo, the concept R5 in yellow, she immediately agreed it was the new Yellow Peril! I'm sure Fran would love it, she'd have probably bought one!

"The Renault 5 will have voice assistant with Chat GPT, so maybe that will be the SECOND thing you turn off" 😂😂😂😂😂 That delivery got me good.

5:16 "Also, where would you put the turbo? It's an electric car, it doesn't have a turbo"

And then there's Porsche with their Taycan "Turbo" S

The optional baguette holder might have swayed me into getting one if I hadn't recently bought a new Clio, that's an essential feature!

We were in Lille France two days ago and a new 5 drove out of a car park in a fetching retro 70’s green and it looked fantastic.

Seeing all the issues my dad's new Kona has with speed limit sign recognition (such as not recognising that he's turned off a limited road and onto a national speed limit road) and how much the lane assist struggles on countryside roads with deteriorated or absent lines on the road, I do not like this whole assistant mania that the EU has come out with lately...

I wish that we would get out of this trend of making cars larger. Especially wider. Driving on roads with cars parked both sides is so much harder with wider cars. We would have a lot less congestion if we didn't have to keep stopping to give way to oncoming traffic all the time. And I keep saying that electric is not the answer if we are using the same amount or more energy. We are just moving the pollution. We need to go smaller, lighter, less material intensive, and more energy efficient.

It's practical to limit top speed of EVs for three reasons:
1) you can fix a short gear ratio for improved acceleration at low speed
2) range falls staggeringly quickly with increased speed. At 130 km/h you get one fourth of the range you get at 90, sheer aerodynamics
3) It's easier to design cooling of electronics and motor if you limit the total *continuous* power.

As an American, who knows nothing about European EVs, I like the style and looks of this EV. 😉👍

I really, really hate all these big screens in cars now.

"It's an electric car - it doesn't have a turbo"
That didn't stop Porsche from making a Taycan turbo, and even a turbo S!

I own a 1994 Super 5, and I have to admit this new 5 peaked my interest. This and the Honda E are my favorite new EVs now, I'd love to get one if I was getting a new car.

Renault has always managed to spice up the car scene with something spectacular, innovative, mad, and sometimes cute too. 4, 5, Espace, Fuego, 25 Baccara, Twingo, Clio, Avantime, Twizy.

Brilliant car company.

Alfa Romeo Milano should be called „Mediolan” then, as it’s the Polish way of saying Milano

Despite being an ICE lover, I really WANT the new R5, Renault just did everything so right, and the interior is amazing looking. If there's one ev I could ever want, it'll be this! However, paying 30k+ for a car with very little range won't interest me, so we'll see how good it's range and consumption shall be

A couple of thoughts 1) the top speed will not be an issue for this car's target demographic, 2) if Renault can somehow get the purchase price below £20, 000/€25, 000 they will sell an absolute shed-load of these.

Nice looking retro design, and this was the first time I heard about Nissan Micra EV. Nice to see the Micra name will still live on.

it looks cool and all but the whole computer controlling everything feels claustrophobic. A 150 kph electric speed limit is just....harsh.
