We continue trying out the new Unreal Engine 5.5 Preview PCG features. This time we try out Ray Casting, along with collisions, and some small HLSL codes that are built in now using PCG GPU.

Amazing video! Thanks for highlighting the shortfalls of outer-bounds stuff, that stuff drives me crazy to try and fix. Great information. Hit detection will keep all the PCG tools from requiring an object/landscape dependance. 5.5 is looking like the renaissance era of PCG. Really great information and concise presentation!

It is really amazing how your channel grows up, in the next time you get 10.000 subscribers! And thanks for this video again, it really helps me out to understand how pcg works.😮🎉 but one thing would be great, please do a tutorial series about spawning a pcg village / city with buildings and streets and things like that, it would be a dream when it is about the medieval theme but I am sure a modern city would be generate more views so that would be smarter ;)

I am really thankful for this explanation -- this is more succinct and clear than the Unreal Fest's devs. Quick question what does "Parse Actor Components" actually do in the Get Actor Data? If you have Youtube content or Patreon content where you explain this and every other "control" of nodes in PCG, I will subscribe! Thanks.

Is there any actual function in the scene for light projection and demonstration, but I can’t tell what its use is from the blank scene. . .

ooof that's amazing but I bet it eats up a lot of performance trying to do it real time. Imagine trying to use this as a method for LiDAR mechanics at runtime. Would be amazing though

I can't think of what this could be used for. I'm not feeling creative with this tool.
