This is the Ford Lightning PRO, which just so happens to be the most affordable, and the best one to get in our opinion. With 18" wheels, plus the exact same mechanics of the higher trims, this is the sweet spot!

A gallon of gas is worth 33.7 kwh. So 1.6 x 33.7 is just inder 54 mpge.

6 months ownership of a Lightning XLT. 8k miles. So much cheaper it’s ridiculous. Most of my driving is within a 10 mile radius. But constantly on the go. 14.2 average MPG on my 2020 Lariat 3.5 Ecoboost for the same driving. This thing only needs charging every third or fourth day. To 90 percent too. My average is 2.1 miles per kWh. No more $70 oil changes. Never mind the $700 30k mile service on my Ecoboost.

Electricity in Ontario is 7.4 cents evenings and our gas is equivalent to $7/ US gal. My cost to drive my Lightening XT is 1/15 of my gas F150. Super savings

Don't worry about using the Pro Power, that battery is huge so unless you are running a big compressor and other stuff for 20 hours straight, you aren't going to run out of power.

So love all the cost savings and efficiency but just saying it felt pretty sweet to smoke a $100K Ram 1500 TRX at the light with my $50K Ford Lighting. Sport mode ROCKs.

They just opened up ordering for the PRO (for those that did the $100 early sign up) starting at $50k. I'm very excited for mine to get here! The one thing that I wish it had from the higher trims is actually the center console that flips into a table. I'm going to be seeing if there is an after market option. Your excitement got me even more excited!

What does "at least" level 2 charging for your house mean? There is no level 3/DC fast charging available for residential. Love that these truck dudes like the Lightning.

I checked a PRo with the ER option last week. Shame I could NOT fit in the front seat. TOO TALL! The XLT had the ability to lower the seat. Pro was a nice unit otherwise.

I do not understand how you get a big battery in the pro. I thought that the only way to do that you need to do a fleet buy?

You can’t get the pro with extended range now, forcing you to go to nearly 70k for extended range at the xlt level. Good going ford. Hard pass for most

Your “mileage” discussion seems a little flawed when you think about costs (regardless of if you want to travel cross country or 99% of your driving is nearby). If you can get 240 miles from the standard battery (we’ll round to 100 kWh battery for ease instead of 98), and the price of electricity is 13c/kWh (Utah), that’s roughly $13 to “fill it up”. Crazy cheap! At about $4/gal by me for the cheap stuff, at, say 20 mpg, that’s $48 to “fill up” to 240 miles worth of range- almost 4x more! The costs to drive EVs can be extraordinarily cheaper. I’m very excited about this truck and the extra daily utility I can get from it, along with the cost savings! 👍

Are you sure that's an Extended Range? 176 miles at 75-80% doesn't seem right for an extended range.

And how are you figuring efficiency? Cost? Energy used? Where you're charing makes a HUGE difference. I charge my EV at home at $.11/kW whereas public DC fast chargers are roughly 4x that. Even at 1.6 miles/kWh, you're looking at $1.10 for every 16 miles driving. At today's national average gas price ($3.601 according to AAA), that's roughly the equivalent to 52 MPGe. Even more if your average is 2.1 miles/kWh. That's WAY more cost efficient per mile than gas.

Your miles per kwh seems REALLY low.... perhaps with your lead foot driving? lol. Other reviewers are claiming 2 to 2.5 miles per kwh and getting 240 miles on standard range test... Great review otherwise.
