I have a recommendation for giving your guinea pigs enough vitamin c, giving them a belle pepper every other day is a great source of vitamin c!

We have been with Nationwide for more than 20 years and obviously happy with them. Super excited when they started offering insurance.

I have had Scotty Doesn't Know stuck in my head all day today and now I'm here by a fluke and his video perhaps saved my piggys life! I thought she'd been vitamin deficient but the mites/parasites made so much sense. I went up and checked through her and found scabs! Thank you!

I bought my Guinea pig with his eye “missing”. They told me (the shelter) that he was just missing an eye and they think it got poked w/ hay & gave him antibiotics and it disappeared. The thing is, I think his eye isn’t gone, I think it just is closed shut. Will the medicine, Terramycin heal his eye? Or is it too far gone to heal?

I loved this video - I have been watching piggie videos from L.A. rescue Saskia and now I have found you! I do all the nail trims/ear cleaning/ and boar cleaning that I have learned to keep our pig healthy. Such great information!!! so valuable to piggie owners of all age pigs. I had a strange poo smell during lap time with our piggie last night and I knew where to go for help - thanks to your great advice, I ordered benebac and will give that as well as cut down on the greens a tad. I am on top of it now so I think our piggie will be fine :) You are a great resource, thank you for all the videos - it helps so much to inform the public!!!!

Great info, Scott. I’ve been pretty fortunate and haven’t experienced most of these issues. I can, however, speak about good experiences with Benebac. A couple of times now, I’ve found soft or weird looking poop coming from one pig. I was able to figure out which pig it was and then give her a few doses of Benebac. I’m not sure what was wrong but her poop stabilized pretty quickly.

Thank you so much! My guinea started showing some symptoms of being sick a few days ago and I don't have enough money for a vet so I had been looking around the web searching his symptoms for help. I thought my guinea pig was going to have to die because I couldn't find anything besides people saying go to the vet. I watched this video and thought, "man, no luck here either". The next day my guinea lost mobility in his legs and I was so bizarrely happy because then I knew it was scurvy. The vitamin C you recommended came in today and I just gave the first dosage for my guinea pig! I'm SUPER EXCITED to see him get better.
Thank you so much!!

Helpful video Scotty. After many years of being a guinea pig slave & foster pig mum I’ve seen many of these. So many vet trips in the beginning but with experience comes knowledge & lots of tricks. Always got a medical kit full of stuff to help these treatable illnesses. 😁

Omg!!! Thank you so much!!! I’m new to the GP family and it’s been a hard adjustment. I’m grateful for your vet list I live in colorado and I thought all vets treat all animals. I think my older boy Guinea pig might have scurvy since he doesn’t move around the cage like he used too especially when I give them veggies normally he would get up on his hinde legs

I rescued my pig from a dumpster. He was left in his cage in the hot July sun but his owner, screaming for water. I've loved him for 4 years since, but now he needs help.

It started with his hind legs being paralyzed, he was dragging them. Now his front legs are barely working. He doesn't eat much, the side of his body he lays on is being matted in poo and the hair all knotted up.

The bones are almost flattening there too from him favoring that side to lay on.

I just started giving him vitamin D supplements crushed inside of mandarin oranges (not the best delivery method, I know) and am just hoping that some functionality may return to bring him a bit more comfort.

His name is Ziggy and he really needs a miracle.
