It serves as a central repository and is a key component of most business intelligence (BI) strategies. Data engineers, data scientists, business analysts and decision-makers access the data using BI tools and other analytics applications (like machine learning) and use it to generate reports and populate dashboards, spotting trends and relationships and making more informed business decisions.
