Raspberry Pi and Arduino are have been one of the most popular System on a chip among tinkerer and DIY enthusiast, while both consist of GPIO pins, and is able to control pretty much the same accessorizes connected to them, the price between them is huge and the PI uses way more power than the Arduino to the point where the Pi required active cooling to archive its maximum performance capacity.

Micro:bit on the other hands, is barely mentioned in the tinkerer and DIY enthusiast space despite it also using an ARM processor, like the Raspberry pi. Most people only understand it as education tools (such as a textbook companion) than an actual SoC that could do pretty much what you can do on the other two device.

With all three of them available on the market with a large variety of configurations. This video attempt to summarized the key point of each system and some exmaple of how they can be used in the real world.

the micro:bit is a masterclass in design. It is genuinely an amazing little device, in the same way the raspberry pi was - ground breaking.
