There are few rock stars who are as consistently cool as Billy.

It's very rare you hear an entire audience clapping on the up-beat.

👍
(50 years smh)
Time keeps on ticking...
Going through a box of old ticket stubs not long ago. I was blessed. My first rock concert:
May 19, 1973 (lol yeah, I'm old, but still above the dirt...)
East Tennessee State University
Rory Gallagher
ZZ Top
$4

It was about two months before Tres Hombres came out. (Dusty Hill's 24th birthday, I came to find out on his passing) It was Festival Seating and I managed to get about 15 feet from mic center. Rory Gallagher was pure fire right out of the gate, and his band was phenomenal. (particularly Lou Martin on his electric piano) Rory was amazing to see play and I think that he had as much fun as anyone. Then, Billy Gibbons and the boys came out. Back when they were the most badass blues rock band that ever was. Straw hats, jeans, no beards (but Frank. lol), and BG in a white tshirt w/ pack of Marlboros rolled up in the sleeve(lol). Needless to say, Rory and Billy made a big impression on a 16 yr old. Saw ZZ Top several more times over the years, but this was the best. Unfortunately, this was the only time I was lucky enough to see Rory. Blues rock, slide guitar nut ever since.
RIP Rory, Rod, Lou, & Dusty. Thank You!
Keep Rockin' Billy, Frank, & Gerry

Pre-Eliminator days were the best. Wish they had re-recorded Eliminator without guitar synths.

This is such great footage!!! That bass tone captured so well! Apparently in the early to mid 80’s foreign countries had a lot better video recording than the U..S.!!!

I was at this one. Travelled from Redcar (UK) to London then by bus to Dortmund. Me and my friend hooked up with some lads from London and had a fantastic time :)

Three Texas dudes and a lot of talent, that's all you need.

22:48 'I love a woman' Freddie King. Amazing cover! Dusty Hill shines in this classic Motown blues swing.

4 reasons I prefer ZZ to Led Zep :

1. Simplicity.
2. Humour.
3. Coreography.
4. Lyrics You can relate to.
