The main reason I use wireless mice is to avoid the friction between the table and cord. Still, a clean desk is really nice to have!

LOL... the whole point of wireless mouse is that we don't have to deal with the wire drag!

Correction: Some of you guys have said how a wireless mouse also gets rid of 'mouse bungee', so having a wired mousepad, but a wireless mouse - has that benefit. Thanks for bringing this up! I would still recommend the G703 as the best-value-for-money option though :)

Disagree. G903 and 703 are focused on being the absolute best gaming mice. Wireless mice have no cable drag, but the downside is (was!) they need to be re-charged. These mice give you the best of both worlds. It's not possible yet to charge a wireless mouse any other way. Tech Chap is a consumer whose primary interest is a clutter-free desk, and that's fine, but he's then not the target demographic for either of these.

The charging mouse matt is good because the cable doesn't move (unlike a mouse) so when you cable manage it you don't need to account for mouse cable slack. It is also good because the mouse cable generally snags and catches on things leading some people to use a mouse bungee where as the g703 and g903 are wireless there is nowires to catch on things, this charging matt will keep the device charged removing the inconvenience of charging the mouse.

For me, the advantage of having a wireless mouse is that I dont feel the cable. I always feel the cable, and it irks me. Top end wireless mice havent had any noticable latency for the past decade. Latency shouldnt even be in the vocabulary these days when it comes to response times. Heck, my Sidewinder x8 had zero noticeable lag. All of my inputs were as quick as any wired mouse i had ever used, and that mouse came out in 2008 (roughly).

the G703 would be great if the mouse wheel had the side to side scrolling feature like the G903. I game a lot, but I also use my PC for work and having the ability to side scroll a spread sheet is key. That is why I upgraded to the G903. Plus it was on sale for less than I originally paid for my G703. Both are great!

so happy I have the G703 and it won the competition :)

The g703 would be perfect for me if it just had the free-scrolling wheel like the 900 and 903. That's one feature I always miss now when I use mice that don't have it. Kind of hard to justify a 50% price increase just for that though...

You state that you have no idea why anyone would use a wireless mouse while still having a wired mouse pad (either a powerplay mat or an RGB mat), so just wanted to leave this here as a thought/consideration. One potential reason for using a wireless mouse over a wired, even if you have an extra cable from something like powerplay, is cable drag. Cable drag can have an affect on aim and a wireless mouse can solve that for you. Also, another thing to consider is the cable management. If you have a desk with no backing to hide cables, you may be okay with a wired mouse pad since you don't have to maintain any slack in the cable the way you would with a wired mouse that may hang down off the back. So with the wired mouse pad, you can keep that cable tight and not have any hanging slack and have no cable drag on the mouse affecting aim.

Picked up the 900 used in very good condition with a flawless box for like $70 on Ebay.

Having a wireless mouse is not about having clutter. It is about having the freedom to pull the mouse anywhere without line tug. It's a gaming mouse for gaming.

Been using G900 since early 2017 and the battery finally stopped holding a charge. A couple days ago I had it swapped out under a protection plan for the G903 and I can definitely say the left and right click are NOT lighter. I would constantly accidentally click with the 900, but not with the 903. Also, the 10g weight is the PERFECT addition. The only feature I wish it had is the DPI momentary thumb button like on my G502. That button is the holy grail for super accurate on-the-fly sniper kills. The 900 was great, the 903 is FANTASTIC and I highly recommend it for any gamer from casual to hardcore.

The g703 is so nice, it is the most responsive mouse I have used so far and feels great!

Thank you, I was having a hard time finding the right comparison. G900 it is.
