The show didn't disappoint for a gala match!

After a match that was as spectacular as it was unrestrained, Paris Saint-Germain came out on top against Riyadh Season Team. A look back at how the match played out (5-4)!

At the end of an emotional trip to the Arabian Peninsula, the club from the capital brought its trip to Saudi Arabia to a close with a gala match under the lights of the King Fahd Stadium. For the encounter, Les Parisiens took on Riyadh Season Team, made up of the best players from Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr, and led by captain Cristiano Ronaldo. Christophe Galtier reintroduced his genius trio of Messi - Neymar Jr - Mbappé into his starting line-up for the first time since the World Cup in Qatar.

You couldn't afford to be late for the festivities on Thursday evening in Riyadh! With their new fourth shirt on their back, Les Parisiens looked to start brightly and showed desire to get going quickly. An inch-perfect pass from Neymar Jr found his teammate Leo Messi who proceeded to hit the back of the net to get the goal fest going (1-0, 3')!

And who better than Cristiano Ronaldo to respond after Leo Messi? After winning a penalty, the Portuguese made no mistake from the spot (1-1, 34'). Things could have become more complicated when the referee decided to show Juan Bernat a red card (39')... But that would mean ignoring the determination of our players, who managed to retake the lead just three minutes later! A perfect cross from the unstoppable Kylian Mbappé saw captain Marquinhos remind the world of his goalscoring prowess (1-2, 41')!

However, a certain Cristiano Ronaldo wasn't done yet, and he didn't need asking twice to secure his brace when he converted just before the break (2-2, 45+6)... The supporters in the King Fahd Stadium were mesmerised by the show on offer and with the scores back on level terms, the suspense was set for the second half.

And a gala match needs gala moments! Splendid link-up, technical inspiration, lightning breaks... The attacking trio was always been quick to combine attractive play and efficiency. Kylian Mbappé proved it again, and in what style! It was a real delight down the left side of the pitch, with our No7 providing a superb cross after several devastating runs, finding Sergio Ramos with his second assist of the evening (2-3, 53'). Kylian then stepped up to score up his own goal, and he did so from the penalty spot (3-4, 60'), as he responded to the hosts' equaliser (3-3, 56').

Our Parisiens continued to manage this lead, Christophe Galtier took advantage of the situation to send on fresh blood, especially with the arrival of Hugo Ekitike - who found the back of the net after an impressive cross (3-5, 75) - and youth academy product Ilyes Housni. A lively and pleasant evening continued, until the final whistle came following another goal from the Saudi side (4-5, 94'). After this friendly, Paris Saint-Germain will very quickly be back in tournament mode, with challenges to come on every front, starting with the Coupe de France on Monday.
