"Scarborough Fair" by Simon and Garfunkel - Acoustic Cover by Emily Linge

Special thanks to my guitar teacher "Simon Tomkins" for teaching me how to play it on guitar.
Thanks also to @elvisgaragic9104 @SoundStruckStudios Dubai for the mix/mastering.

"Scarborough Fair" is a beautiful traditional English ballad.

Lyrics:

Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
He once was a true love of mine

Tell him to make me a cambric shirt
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme
Without no seams nor needle work
Then he'll be a true love of mine

Tell him to find me an acre of land
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Between the salt water and the sea strands
Then he'll be a true love of mine

Tell him to reap it with a sickle of leather
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme
And gather it all in a bunch of heather
Then he'll be a true love of mine

Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
He once was a true love of mine

From the South of the world, Patagonia, I am being transported to Old Europe, land of my ancestors. Thank you!!

For some reason the vocal coloratura that Emily Linge uses in Scarborough Fair has led me to the beautiful performances of Joan Baez. In any case, congratulations Emily for your wonderful interpretations!!

This medieval tune, the origin of which is not known with certainty, has received many interpretations over the generations. Emily's version is heartwarmingly beautiful ❣️

Emily Linge, with her wonderful voice, recreates this song with an almost Celtic touch. Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme for you, Emily. Thank you.

Your voice has an ethereal purity, with minimal vibrato, that is perfect for bringing these ancient ballads to life. This reminds me of performances by masters of this genre such as Karen Matheson and Custer LaRue. Bravissima, yet again!

Emily gave a little smile at the end as she knew she had nailed the guitar part and of course the singing as well.
