Do you want updates if your phone is working just fine with no problems ..What if update break your phone for you to buy the newest models on the market..

I don't give a s..t about updates. My s9+ is still running Oreo. And man. I'm so happy I didn't upgrade. But to be honest I also don't care about security patches. Imo the first version of a released smartphone is in 95% the best and most stable one.

Every OTA is welcome including new features from latest galaxy too, pro video on s10's now...beta tested 9, 10 on s9 plus, and beta tested 10 on s10 plus all good...clearing cache can settle apps, and waiting for OTA to settle in.. best do OTA on night 7hrs of non use of device...

I lost a lot of features when Samsung came a long with one ui.(note 9)
The first Bixby Version was way better then the latest.
We had video pro mode.
Better multitasking swipe from corner for pop up.
I wish i was still on Oreo like i have on my s7 edge is better.
And Samsung experience it has more features.

We should get updates that is a fact with no argues but we alway have to wait a little and see other people like xda developers to test the new updates because sometimes they only make it worse or add more problems on top of the existing ones!

I'm waiting for the Android 10 update for Moto G7. That is why I bought it for system update only. My total budget was $300.

Most the time when phones starts acting up it just needs a new battery. My new phone's battery is built inside and I can't replace it. The most expensive phone I bought was $100 phone on sale package for $45. W/$35 phone card.

My view is don't upgrade unless you need to. I have a Pixel 3. Android 9 was ok on the Pixel 3, but it wasn't great. Android 10 was fantastic on it. Android 11 was kind of bad, and Android 12 is terrible on it. As soon as I upgraded my Pixel 3 to Android 12, apps started to crash, the phone got SO much slower, and I started to have all these issues I've never had before. Please don't upgrade unless you need to. Don't just do it willy nilly.

I agree with you when it comes to updates it's time for the updates to be on time and be right now waiting for it to be patched.

Updates are essential. If nothing else they need to fix the bugs and security holes present. For most, $1000 is not throw away money.

Another solid video e h The way I look at software updates is this It's not so much about the price because realistically you're buying your phone for what it can do right now not what it may potentially be able to do in the future after updates. That being said I do believe that manufacturers should at least do their best to push out security patches because with everything that we do on our phones nowadays security is more important than ever. On the other hand however based on the price I think we should get some guarantees on some of these devices I mean if I'm paying $700 plus I need some updates I need some assurances that my device is going to run smoothly for at least 2 years but I digress because I don't really spend that much money on phones anyway I rarely spend over $280 so but they do need to do a better job in some cases and you made some great points. Have a good one keep up the great work and I'll catch you on the next one.

Even though they can cause frustrating problems at times, most notably reducing battery life for me, I still gotta have them. The good outweighs the bad.

@Eazy Computer Solutions - I would prefer an update not make something worse than it was before, especially if the original price of the phone is what phones appear to be these days upwards of about $1, 000+. If a phone runs that much money I expect it to be working out of the box and not come with a bunch of 'issues' that need tending to right off with so called 'updates' - and even then leave the phone hurting with those not tending to problems - ie, Samsung Ultra. Seems like for some phone companies the consumer comes last - sigh. 🤷

A much needed video. Thank you.
