ROASTED KOHLRABI 😋

This recipe is inspired by @adip_food. 🫶
There’s almost nothing better to do with a homegrown kohlrabi than this…😉
RECIPE (2 servings, 45min prep time):
-2 kohlrabi
Peel, cut in half and cook in salted water 7-10mins.
Sear in a pan with some oil and season with salt.
Roast at 185C/350F for 30mins but flip halfway through.
Dressing:
-2 Tbsp vinegar
-2 Tbsp soy sauce
-1 Tbsp maple syrup
-1 Tsp ginger powder
-1 Tbsp sesame oil
Serve the kohlrabi with the dressing.

Es gibt fast nichts Besseres, als so einen Kohlrabi aus dem Garten zuzubereiten … 😉
REZEPT (2 Portionen, 45 Minuten Zubereitungszeit):
-2 Kohlrabi
Schälen, halbieren und in Salzwasser 7–10 Minuten kochen.
In einer Pfanne mit etwas Öl anbraten und mit Salz würzen.
30 Minuten bei 185 °C/350 °F rösten, nach der Hälfte der Zeit wenden.
Dressing:
-2 EL Essig
-2 EL Sojasauce
-1 EL Ahornsirup
-1 TL Ingwerpulver
-1 EL Sesamöl
Den Kohlrabi mit dem Dressing servieren.

I really love the lead in of ‘this is no meat, and it’s not trying to be meat!’ I just love people trying to open others minds to meat-free meals without trying to just make it all about substituting meat. It’s more appealing to just present it like it is! Also, loved the bit with ur mom lol ❤

You can peel them and fine grate them and mix with salt, oil and lemon juice, to make a salad I grew up with, in Romania. 😊

I’d argue that vege/vegan food shine the most when they’re not trying to be meat! I’m neither but I am in LOVE with this vegan buffet I went to once in Melbourne Australia. I had about 5 plates worth of food!

Kohlrabi is so delicious! Kids tend to love it too. Going to try this ASAP.
I usually turn kohlrabi into chips for hummus, dips, etc. but this looks so good! 😊

I grew up eating this out of our garden also. Tastes like broccoli. Especially the stalks of broccoli

I love watching your channel! I grew up on a farm where one of our vegetables was kohlrabi. We always ate it raw and when we sliced it would put it in a bowl of water to keep it crisp. I can't wait to try your ways to fix kohlrabi

Kohlrabi is good raw too, cut to comfortable slices for a nice finger food veggie snack. I used to take these to school and people were jealous.

In certain parts of India we even eat the leaves. The stir fried leaves taste good if its grown in the colder parts of the country. The leaves from the other parts of tye country generally taste like saw dust 🥲

We just cut them into fries or wedges and then air fry with a little salt and pepper. Delicious!
