In 1926 Edwin Hubble gave a classification scheme for Galaxies based on their visual appearance known as HUBBLE SEQUENCE. It is often colloquially known as the Hubble tuning fork diagram because the shape in which it is traditionally represented resembles a tuning fork.

The four main types of Galaxies are : Elliptical Galaxies, Spiral Galaxies, Lenticular Galaxies and Irregular Galaxies. These galaxies are also further sub divided which is explained in the video. Note : The information about Lenticular galaxies is not shown in the video which will be given later on in future videos.

All the images of galaxies shown in the video are subjected to copyright to the respective owner and are used for the purpose of sharing information and not for any commercial use. Also the respective credits for the images are also given below the image.
