KPRC 2 Investigates: Who is keeping track of paper tags on vehicles?

A CAR SHOULD HAVE THE STAMP ID (VIN #) ON THE CAR VISIBLE IN THE FRONT AND BACK OF THE CAR. A few months ago, around 2pm with witnesses that did try to help. A horrible woman hit my car (myself and 2 passengers) and of course she did a hit and run, and of course she had paper tags. Early 2000s Tahoe, or suburban. She acted like she was getting her paper work to exchange information. Instead she just jumped back in her car and drove like crazy through a crowded shopping center. I really do hope karma gets her. Who gets stuck with the bill? It bothers me soo much she and a whole lot of other people get away with this.

I was in a Houston Staples and witnessed a man altering dates on their copy machine. He was cutting and pasting different dates on copies then re-copying. I was in line waiting and he wasn't trying to hide what he was doing.

because it's becoming nervously, concerning seeing every car around me pulling up next to me with paper plates. With all these crazy weird crimes happening every where!!!! I thought I was the only one curious about this.

Half of all cars in texas have paper plates on cars that are garbage

I was on my way to work a few weeks ago, there was this Honda Passport in front of me... the paper tag said Ford.

The Police department should have people checking license plates all day, may it be paper or real plates for unpaid tickets, stolen plates, warrants, stolen cars, no plates etc… they often use stolen cars for other criminal activities such as robberies, carjackings and the like…they should have people all around the city checking parking lots.

I hope they find a way to fix it I’m tired of seeing 1989 cars with paper tags makes no damn sense and when they get into a wreck no one knows who tf they are

Since we're talking about paper plates, let's talk about having them not only in the back & also on the FRONT, please! Don't forget about those bad people trying to use those dark-tinted, hard-to-read license plate cover on the back as well. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Anyone can stick a paper tag on any vehicles. Anyone got a photocopier, scanner and a computer can just print it out. (warning I don't endorse it). LOL They need some kind special reflection sticker to avoid this mess. Like your inspection sticker.

I see a TON of cars with paper tags compared to what I've seen in the past. One guy on my street has had paper tags on his car for 2 years... You can't stop in a crowd of cars without seeing at least one now a days.

And it has gotten better.... back then they wrote the "expiration" date with a sharpie where you could literally change numbers with another sharpie. I do know a guy that pays every 2 months for some right now cuz of a suspended license n a car he bought cash.
