This star-studded tribute brings into focus the dazzling, complex period of Liza Minnelli's life starting in the 1970s, just after the tragic death of her mother Judy Garland--as she confronts a range of personal and professional challenges on the way to becoming a bona fide legend. Over these years, Liza seeks out extraordinary mentors: Kay Thompson, Fred Ebb, Charles Aznavour, Halston, and Bob Fosse. With insightful participation from a coterie of colleagues such as Michael Feinstein, Mia Farrow, Ben Vereen, Joel Grey and the late Chita Rivera, along with the revelatory participation by the star herself, the film illuminates the contradiction of Liza Minnelli: her privilege and struggle, strength and vulnerability, unreal expectations and towering talent--the friction of which fueled her stunning rise, resilience and her enduring place as one of the greatest, most original performers in the history of entertainment.

I saw Liza live at the London Palladium in the late 70s. Still to this day the greatest live performer I have ever seen - and I’ve seen a lot! I can’t wait to see this. Whether more information about her life is revealed or not, Liza has lead a fascinating life, she is a very intriguing character, and I think this looks like a great opportunity to see footage of her glory days and also hear from her given all the rumours about her alleged current state of health. I just wish I could fine out when we can see it in the UK!

I really have to hand it to Liza. She's no nepo baby, she is entirely SELF-MADE! She might've been born to Hollywood royalty, but she forged her own path. She's been on her own since the age of 16, even refusing family friend, Frank Sinatra, when he offered to financially assist her. Liza famously said her mother told her, "Always be a first rate version of yourself, not a second rate imitation of somebody else." Liza, my darling, you did just that. Bravo!

I am so pleased this film was made when she was still alive to see and reflect on it. I’ve got a story about when our paths crossed at a club in London. She offered to help me with the stairs (I’m disabled and use a stick) but I knew that she had health challenges, so I refused. She didn’t know me, but just offered because I was there on my own. As soon as I took the first step, I fell over! I really should have taken up her offer! Hey ho….Can’t wait for this film!

I have seen LIZA perform MANY times and have NEVER been disappointed. She truly is an AMAZING performer and a wonderful story teller. I have loved Liza ever since I saw CABARET in 1972! God bless you Liza and for giving my life that extra-special something. XO♥️😊👍

Being a big Frank fan, I can see why he adored and was mesmerized by her. I've watched her for decades, in awe. Now, I can see a clip of LIZA just tearing it up on stage (with no volume on, mind you) and still get an electric charge down the back of my neck. When Dean left the "Together Again National Concert Tour" after only a single performance back in 1988, Mr. S. asked LIZA if she would join him, and Sammy. She did. If you've never seen her performance from that tour, it will literally blow your mind how spectacular she was. I've seen countless live performances in my time, of the best-of-the-best. That performance from the DVD/Blu-Ray is on a mountain all it's own. She was on fire, and lit the place up like it was a firecracker. I've never seen anything like it. There is absolutely no performance of anyone to compare it to.

To see Liza in concert was a riveting spectacle with no equal. The room felt like a lighting box as she was so electrifying. And kind. And fun. And real. She is in the orbit of Judy, Barbra, and Merman, and yet she is a true American original in her own way. No one refers to her as "Judy Garland's daughter." She made her own way and never forgot her family in the process. Can't wait to see this movie!

Liza was a true performer! You felt every song. When she sang you went along for the ride. I was lucky enough to see her live several times in the 80's. Dazzling and electrifying! I never went to see Liza because of who her parents were. Sure, that's intriguing, but she made her own way and we all benefited from it.

Saw her in Reno a dozen years ago. Fifty minutes of Liza, and only a few of them were painful. The woman was determined to give her audience a good show even if she had to work harder than ever. Her encore songs were among her best, "The World Goes 'Round" and "New York, New York, " and she left that stage a proud performer, even if she did have to employ a steroid inhaler before singing them.
