HUBBY MODS THE WIFE'S JUKE! SCARES IROC /Z CAMARO! 1.6L 4CYL. FACTORY TURBO VS V8! BYRON!

I remember when Nissan first introduced the Juke and thought it had to be the ugliest front end ever designed! It reminded me a frog or some other creature. The Juke has been in production since '10 until recently being replaced by the '18 Nissan Kicks, although a second gen Juke was planned for '19, so somebody apparently finds them appealing.
Now on to this story where the June temperature, here at the Playground of Power in Byron, Illinois reached into the high 90's. The heat and humidity kept the car count down especially as far as race cars in attendance go so the action was limited to mostly street cars. As I saw the Juke go by on the return road, I spotted the gleaming intercooler in the front grille and just had to go see what was up with it! As Tony explains he took over his wife's '12 Juke and started to mod it. Working with the stock turboed 1.6 4 cyl he added an intercooler and pipes along with a UpRev tune getting the Juke today into the 14's while giving the IROC-Z a scare on the first pass! Swapping on a set of drag radials to try and push it more, the Juke came out strong in the second pass but seemed to fall on its face at the 1/8 mile as the IROC-Z easily took the win. I'm guessing the heat and possibly the trans may have contributed to the fall off in performance. All in all I think this Juke is pretty damn cool even though I still can't get used to that front end! #juke #dragracing #uprev

The design of this car was truly groundbreaking when it was first released, ahead of its time. Now, as we fast forward to 2023, its aesthetic remains quite appealing, particularly given its impressive features. With a potent turbocharged engine, a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system, tunability, affordability, and the ruggedly captivating appearance it takes on when lifted and equipped with all-terrain tires for its off-road edition look, it's hard not to be convinced of its allure.

How did you come up with that when it lost the race by over a second? Just curious.

Still nice run for a small engine... And I like the Jukes... I sort of miss mine.
