Harry Hippie, was a song by Bobby Womack, based on his brother, Harry Womack, who had been a bass guitar player while the brothers had been the Valentinos. Harry was a care-free sort who drifted in and out of the music business and wasn't so concerned with making it big but more concerned with living a life style free of pressure. The song was meant to be a humorous poke at his brother's attitude but unfortunately became a memorial tribute to him when two years after it's publication, Harry was killed by a jealous girlfriend. Harry Hippie peaked at #5 on the Cash Box chart, week ending 2/3/73.
